Privateer 2 in win98..install screen distorted

I tried to get P2 to run in win98se by having the install program not recognize windows..the install starts up but the screen is very distorted... i see about 10 mouse cursors and cant make anything out.....any help here??

Ive tried a lot at Windows98SE but there I cant run it properly.The best you can do is make a boot disk and run it from pure DOS.
