That, and as I seem to recall, on 4 different occasions they've found some sort of WMD/materials there-of. More often than not, they were(or are) off at a lab being tested for that very thing. I fail to see how you just *know* that they're not there, when a group of scientists, and can we use the word professionals?, haven't even finished their evaluations.

Not at all -- the US doesn't have an obligation to run the world. Pretty much every country has "terrorists" fighting against whatever the established norm is -- it's generally none of our business. If we believe Country X is supporting the sort of terrorists who are a threat to the United States, then we're going to be justified in involving ourselves.

The list of non anti-american terrorist groups is really, really small. But "terrorists" are not those fighting against the established norm. That's a gross oversimplification. There's a difference between "rebels" and "terrorists", or the US revolution would've been done by "terrorists".

Generally terrorists are fueled by some totalitarian ideology (usually a variation of marxsism or religious fundamentalism) and are very likely to commit horrible crimes to further their cause - the end justify the means.

The name "terrorism" is losing its meaning. Some people try to leave Cuba without proper government authorization, and the Cuban government judge them in 6 days and execute them as... terrorists! To the paredón with the American-sponsored terrorists!

“Pacifists”, of course, have nothing to say about this. Socialist dictators have carte blanche. But if the US dares to try to spot one of them, they are called terrorists. Nice cath-22, isn't it?

ChrisReid: if you actually think tthat al-queda and saddam had any connection beyond a mutual HATRED, then you do NOT understand middle eastern politics or really anything about either group.

sure, they don't have any connection beyond mutual hatred, yet there are al queda linked training camps in iraq and al queda people in iraq getting medical treatment. this may be a shock to you, but just cause you think (insert whatever here) is true doesn't mean it IS true.

Ohh and aries yes "we havent found the WMDS because they are in syria" then when we dont find them there, we will attack iran saying they are there, and when we dont find them there, where will we look next? ohh and btw syria are ALLOWED to have wmds just as much as the US is. So that wins as the dumbest argument ever.

well, considering that iraqi oil was going into syria for who knows how long in direct violation of UN resolutions, and top iraqi people have now showed up in syria, it's a good possibility that if we don't find saddam's WMDs in iraq, they might be in syria

and yes, i agree. syria being allowed to have WMDs just as much as the US IS the dumbest argument ever. thank you for pointing that out

Look at it this way, whether or not Iraq and Saddam were aiding terrorist, or have weapons of mass destruction, do we agree that the regime was abusing and killing the iraqi people? That it was violating numerous UN resolutions?

Proof that Saddam aids terrorists, lies in the fact that his regime pays the families of Palestinian suicide bombers who blow themselves up to kill Israelis. Isn't blowing yourself up to kill civilians an act of terrorism? And by saddam giving money to the families of these bombers and making it sound like a great thing, isn't that supporting terrorism?

This "US Revolution" compairson is a lot of bullshit, and it digs its self deeper everytime I hear it. The same goes for the idiot ideal that has people compairing Bush to Hitler. Well, thats all well and good, but how many people turn that around and say Hitler was like Bush? None, you know why? Because even the most staunch Anti-Bush person realizes that sounds as intelligent as a charnel house filled with retarded children.

To quote you, except in italics: Gross Oversimplification.

Apparently, much like a true facist ideal, you only accept facts that support your end of the spectrum and ignore everything else as worthless.

The name "terrorism" is losing its meaning.

"Embarassingly Stupid" and "Completely Fucking Ignorant" is definitely gaining ground in it's meaning though.

Nice cath-22, isn't it?

Wasn't Cath-22 that substance on the shuttlebay deck in the episode of TNG where Troi had a space baby?

What was exactly my point.

Only if by "Apparently" you mean “in the delirious mind of a troll”. I simply stated factual reality. Most terrorist groups have totalitarian ideologies. That happens from Colombia to India, from Pakistan to Angola, from the Middle East to the Philippines. If you don’t like this fact, babbling like a lunatic will not affect the reality. The majority of those will be connected to some variation of Marxism or some kind of religious fundamentalism. There are others, too, but I was talking about the majority of such organizations, not all of them.

I didn't say all Marxists or religious fundamentalists are terrorists. I said terrorists usually have some for of totalitarian ideology or another. That's completely different.

All rottweillers are dogs. Not all dogs are rottweillers. This is the kind of simple IQ test to differentiate complete morons from normal people. You failed.

"Embarassingly Stupid" and "Completely Fucking Ignorant" is definitely gaining ground in it's meaning though.

Every time you post.

O.K. Who's next? I'm kinda partial to taking out Iran next. Little grudge I'm holding from '79. I was always hoping that we would "accidentally" send them a Tomahawk TLAM-N while we were doing Desert Storm or the latest romp in the sun.:D
