Oasis? Grovsner Colonies?

Aeronautico

Rear Admiral
In the CIC Universe Maps and in StarSoldier, there is a planet called Oasis. It is found in the Landreich Sector. Does anybody know what faction it belongs to, or anything else about the planet for that matter? It seems like a very obscure part of the WC universe.

Also, the same goes for the two Grovsner Colonies, also marked in the CIC Universe Maps. Again, what faction, and what about the planets? I don't want to create any new articles on these planets until I know something about them, and there aren't many sources on either topic. So, if anybody could help me clear up the confusion....?

Grovsner Colonies.

It's actually pretty self-evident. Look at the color of the system and then what name that color corresponds to in the map legend.

And to answer your second question...we don't know anything about them except they exist.

Sorry, that was poorly worded. I knew Grovsner was a separate faction, I just wanted to know if ANY information on it existed. I can't find it anywhere.

In any case, thanks for answering my questions.

Isn't Oasis that planet from WCATV with the bipedal reptiles, where everyone is supposed to live in harmony? With the orb?

If I'm remembering correctly they are mentioned in the WC4 novel The Price of Freedom, but never elaborated on.

Oops forgot about that.

Oasis was the only planet in the wing commander universe where both Kilrathi and Man were able to exist peacefully until Blair's destruction of Kilrah via Temblor bomb and the subsequent Kilrathi surrender. In wing commander academy the planet was protected by an energy field given off by a mysterious yellow/white orb. The orb could control many environmental effects including sending a tornado into space. The orb provided a strong defensive effect which shielded the planet from its harsh sun allowing the inhabitants to live in substantial comfort. It transformed the world from a hot kilrah like planet into a garden oasis.

Oasis was neutral, but I don't think there was ever Kilrathi and human coexistence there. In the episode, Tolwyn says that no Kilrathi have visited the planet while a Confed ship was there. The only permanent residents seem to be the native Oasians. And Michael Dorn.

The only reference to the Grovsner colonies I can think of is from Fleet Action, where the Firekkan leader mentions them during the negotiations for the false armistice:

"You don't even see members of the Landreich worlds or the Grovsner colonies here, since they want no part of this peace."

You can draw some interesting conclusions from that, but they probably don't belong in a wiki.

While we're talking about unusual places on the map, what's with Dallas? It's just sitting up there in the Avalon Sector with no jump lines connecting it to anything. I did a search, but the only info I got was about the pilot from Prophecy.

That was it, not TPOF but FA. Thanks.

There's no continuity about this.

It's an Origin 'in-joke', referencing an org chart made by Dallas Snell; it was just his name with a line pointing back to itself.
