New guy with some old questions

Long time Wing Commander junkie with some questions that have probably been asked before. First, I've never played Academy or Armada, how can I get these to run on my semi-modern (WINME) system? Second, just reinstalled Prophecy on same system and the movies seem to be running faster than they should, very choppy and unwatchable. Any assistance or information would be greatly appreciated. Been lurking for a while, nice place you all got here.
 
Re Academy: Should run as is, but depending on your soundcard it might run without sound.

Re Armada: Doesn't work in Windows. You need to use either myjemm or DOSbox (0.61 IIRC) or do a boot into REAL Dos.

Re Prophecy: Try do reduce the directX sound acceleration
 
And if you visit the Tech Support Forums you'll find these pieces of advice over and over and over.
