Hi JohnI12,

my soundcard works under DOS! Ive done the test...
my autoexec.bat now looks like this:

SET PATH=C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;C:\SBPCI
SET TEMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
SET TMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
PROMPT $P$G
KEYB GR,,C:\WINDOWS\COMAND\KEYBOARD.SYS
REM -SOUND CARD---
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T2 J200
SET SNDSCAPE=C:\WINDOWS
SET SBPCI=C:\SBPCI
LH C:\SBPCI\APINIT
C:\SBPCI\APLOAD.EXE

REM --- CD-ROM DRIVE ---
REM LH C:\CDROM\MSCDEX.EXE /D:CDLW

REM --- MOUSE-----
LH C:\MOUSE\MOUSE.EXE

SET COMSPEC=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM

Is it right or wrong????????????

I made a mistake. In the config.sys change SHELL=C:\ WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM C:\DOS /P to
SHELL=C:\ WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM C:\WINDOWS /P

I ve done your corrections; but with your correction in the autoexec.bat my computer breaks down!

Is a failure in my autoexec.bat (see a few posts below)?

What do you mean by "breaks down"? Do you get a error message? You are using a bootdisk? Everything I gave you is design to run off a bootdisk. Some of the stuff would conflict with Win98 so don't boot from windows like you were doing.

Now assuming you are using a bootdisk. We are going to try re-installing P1 again. This time remove the REM command from the CD-ROM lines in the autoexec.bat and config.sys. You now have your CD. Delete the c:\privater. Now use the bootdisk and to install P1. Make sure you configure the sound settings. After installing the game go back in to windows and copy the *.tre files to the c:\privater and edit the rf.cfg and priv.cfg as before. Also, make sure you place the REM command back.
