New category: Torpedoes

Guns and Missiles are already under the Weapons Category. I suppose we could just create a "Mine," "Special Weapons" and "Miscellaneous" subcategory as well. My fear is we will over categorize things and make them hard to find.

You're right, we shouldn't overcomplicate things. I don't think we really need many more categories than just guns and ordnance, considering the number of entries we can expect. It's not like there are fifty models of mine that we can write pages about.
 
You don't need more than 3 catgories. Guns, the other stuff, and special weapons.

I think the "Plot Device Weaponry" (special weapons?) needs it own category. Its' not something you fly around lobbing at targets of opportunity neither in or out of universe. It's a very spesific device that's only in there to kill the final boss or to spice up som random mission (Boarding Torpedo-thingers).
