More GOG WC Releases on the Horizon? (March 24, 2013)

Good Old Games has kicked off a new series of Electronic Arts releases with the recent addition of Syndicate Wars, Clive Barker's Undying and Magic Carpet 2 to their library. Could more Wing Commander titles be next? Previous WC titles were added to GOG's lineup amidst other non-Origin EA franchises, and it's been a few months now since the expansion packs went online. There's still half a dozen prime WC candidates yet to be added to the service, so which would you like to see first? This is our poll, not GOG's, but no matter who wins, we'll be pushing hard for all possible WC games to be added to their library!

The last poll asked which game manual was everyone's favorite. Claw Marks won with almost half the vote! Victory Streak took second place with another quarter of the response. Here's the final tally:

Well super wing commander isn't a PC title. Though that being said, I wouldn't mind trying out the 3do version. Looks a lot better then the mac version I have

You won't ever see Super Wing Commander on GOG, despite their inclusion of Mac games. What they're selling is DOS games running through the Mac port of DOSBox and not native Mac games. Add to that the fact that Super Wing Commander is a PowerPC game which won't run on a current Mac in the first place.

Well, despite the next-to-no chance, I voted for SWC, I'd love to finally play that game. But Armada is a close second for me then Acadeny. But any WC game would be great.

Now I'm off purchasing Syndicate Wars, even though the game really isn't that good.

Gog does sell native OSX applications. But yes I know, we have had Super Wing commander cd since I was little. But it's worse then just a PowerPc app. It's an OS9-7 app which requires Sheepshaver or Basilisk II (as it is also a 68k app which predated PowerPC). So yeah Gog ain't happening.

Back in the day apple had some kind of deal with EA to port over a lot of 3do titles over to it. I also own Shockwave Assault I and II on it. But graphically speaking they aren't as good as the original titles.
