Mission Cargo

Wendy

Spaceman
I made it to Perry with three mission cargos and room in the hull to spare.
I took off from Perry and my on-board readout said my mission failed because I couldn't deliver my cargo?

HEY!

'Snot Fair!

anywho, back to the game

could it be that some got shot out on the way?
did you remember the exact quantity you got intiially?

was it all gone as well?

I got paid for two of the missions but I wound up selling 5 jewels to the exchange for about 3K less than I would have gotten for the mission. I took the cargo straight through. Nothing penetrated the shields. One hit took them down one notch, that's it

Shot out? I'd have to be destroyed to get it shot out, wouldn't I?

Oh but I noticed a mission for taking out a Gothri with 20 Escorts for 31K. Dream ON! No way, no HOW! 5 escorts, MAYBE, IF there's a support vessel near by. But not for that kind of cash. How am I supposed to hire wingmen with that kind of chump change?

We seem to have a pendulum here. Multimillion to mere pittance.

Okay, More on the issue.
I have "Caught" afterburners, Iris MK-I, Missiles FoF and a few other things after taking out a Gothri. How do I USE them rather than sell them? I have several ships remember.

with the tractor beam? I thought they turn into space salvage

using them proved to make the game "too easy" back when we played it before

Oh, I DID get them, It's in Uncategorised Cargo. So I get 10 Credits for the 4 items? I dodged in and out of 20 fighters for ten credits????? AaaaarrrrgggHHH!!!!

And What is with the Damaged category in Upgrades and Repairs? Is that where you buy damaged goods for half off and do repairs?

that means your stuff was damaged
you can repair it by clicking the Repair button (which costs a few k) and buy a repair

Missions, Missions, and more Missions

Something I have noticed is that many cargo missions, when transporting to the same base, will require you to land multiple times to finish multiple missions.

Say I have 3 missions all going to New Constantinople, I will have to land 3 sepparate times to complete all 3 missions.

This usually turns out to be quite an annoyance (As well as a waste of creds in docking fee's)

Another thiing I have to say is abit about balancing some Capship missions. Now its all fine and dandy when you get a missino to take out a Kamekh with 3 known escorts, but it is kinda ridiculous when all 3 of those escorts turn out to e be Kamekhs themselves. Or another that I had of the same incident of sorts, a Pirate Drayman with 7 escorts... all 7 being draymens... Now that was fun and rather boring in its own way...

I think we fixed the dock 3 times thing

not sure how the engine is supposed to know that the mission is "boring" with certain sets of ships.

just go in...get the mark...go out

Which reminds me: I thought I remembered reading here that yu could press CRTL+F1 or SHIFT+F1 or similar to target your mission objective. Could you refresh my memory? It would certainly help in determining which Drayman out of the 7 you need to destroy.

you can save your target with alt-3 or alt-8 or alt-1 or whatever
then resotre it with cntrl-3 or 8 or 1 or whatever...
this lets you save the initially targetted guy for later

That's a lot of button pushing when cycling through hostile targets (WC3 style) is a lot easier. Too bad you can't make that work in this game.

So how do you know what to target initially? Is your target automatically selected when you come out of autopilot?
