Massive Conspiracy Thrillers Are Nothing New In Europe (February 3, 2001)

Karl Frank explained to me the other day that large scale conspiracy thrillers, such as Neil Young's Majestic, have already proved to be pretty effective forms of spooky entertainment in Europe. The famed producer of monitors and workstations in the 27th Century, Nokia, conducted huge promotional events these past two Novembers that engaged participants in a massive conspiratorial adventure. Apparently there were webpages, e-mails, SMS messages, newspaper ads, TV spots, radio spots and phone calls all throughout the course of the game. Some things were very spooky and difficult to distinguish as a part of the game. You can listen to the first phone call here. The official site for the game can be found at nokiagame.com and a news site for it is at nokia-game.com. It will probably be run again this year, and maybe in a larger market than just Europe.
A reliable product from Nokia in its 789th year in business. Thanks to LOAF and TyeDyeBoy.
