The June 21, 1996 Component Manager Meeting agenda starts off with an interesting list of issues that really helps get a feel for this exact point in the Maverick Team's history - what the problems where, where the future of the series was to go and so forth. One line sums it up best: "We need to show Origin/EA that we can do this without CR." Other than that: monkeys have been ruled out for the Maniac Missions story (darn!), Captain Johnny is now in England and Billy Cain is a WINNER!

Too bad about the monkeys.

Could the movie player bug be the downfall of the WCP PS1 version?

Nah - they already have at least two ways to play movies at this point. My guess is that it's just the massive cuts to time and budget that will happen to the project that kills WCPSX... or maybe lower than expected sales on WCIVPSX (which hasn't shipped yet.)

Man, that was a loooooooooong flight.. I tried to sleep.. didn't work.. so I hit the free booze, with hopes of inducing a bit of sleep.. that didn't work.. by the time we landed in Manchester, I was EXTREMELY tired, cranky, sore from sitting in an uncomfortable (NOT first class) seat for so long and a bit hung over..
