KS Joy Problem

I've encountered a little problem in KS and wondered if one of you could solve this puzzle.
I play KS (WC I+II) out of habit only with my joystick and always when slightly touch one of my mice (connected one to USB and one to PS/2) the game switches to mouse-mode and I'm not able to get my joy in-game going again.
Does anyone encountered this problem too?
And more important - is there an' answer for the question:
Can I switch from mouse-mode to joy-mode again?

As I remember it, you don't ever "switch modes"; just maneuver the mouse so that you're not turning and start using the joystick again. The mouse pointer thing should go away.

Nope - doesn't work that way. Even when I don't touch my mouse it switches to full mouse-mode after a few minutes.
Is there a KS Patch out there?

I have the same problem with my CH Flightstick under WC 1 and 2 (DOS Classic Version). If I move to fast, Joystick control is lost and WC must be restartet. I'am afraid I haven't found a solution yet...
