Kilrathi Saga bad rap?

I'd be happier if you said "a full WC game" instead of "a proper WC game" because it still sounds a bit disrespectful towards Arena which is a fine game but I guess I'm being oversensitive.

Anyway, I totally agree (as probably the majority here), another new WC game would be awesome.
I suppose that my wording wasn't as good as it should have been, and don't get me wrong, I love Arena, I'm just looking for a WC game in the same vein as the classics I adored

I do think a comprehensive re-release for modern machines and operating systems would be really neat. I would even settle (prefer, actually) to keep the original graphics, music, etc.

I would love to see SM 1.5 incorporated, though I'm not sure how they would do it. It would certainly be confusing for new-comers attracted to the WC universe by the new release to witness the Tiger's Claw change her appearance for one campaign. :D

The cost to refurbish the games is probably too high to merit such an exercise, but I like to hope we'll see something along those lines eventually.

Clearly, I think it's pretty safe to say we would all like to continue forging new chapters in the WC universe. Nevertheless, I wouldn't mind giving a nice dusting to the original entries. ;)

The incorporation of the SM 1.5 missions could only be handled in a remake, due to the fact that everything is different from WC1, it would be much too jarring to the average player to play through WC1, SM1, then jump to the different graphical style for SM1.5, and then jump back to the normal style for SM2.

I'm at work right now, but I will post my full ideas for a KS remake when I get an opportunity either later today or tommorow morning in another thread.

Why would it need to be a different style. I'm sure some intrepid fan could one day incorporate the missions and text into the WC1 engine.

If somebody can do it, I would be insanely happy. I never really liked the graphical style of SWC. Regardless, like I said I will post my full ideas in a new thread when I get a long enough time to properly articulate them

Maybe there's a different and creative approach that we're overlooking. Here's one such useless but potential(ly rediculous) theory: The carrier in SM1.5 is really the famed Lexington detailed in Voices of War from Armada, but Confed hides this fact because the ship is at that time secret due to its eventual mission, and is still undergoing operational testing. As a result of operational security, history attributes the events of SM1.5 to the Tiger's Claw et al.

Heh - worth a shot, right?

Creative, I'll give you that.

Interesting theory though, and a possibility.

As Dund said, Star Soldier contradicts this (compared with the Victory Streak's timeline, the Armada Lexington's name is no longer redacted for security reasons, and the SM1.5 is attributed to the Claw). Even without SS, Voices of War and Victory Streak describe the mission as a response to the Hakaga attack and say it is launched through a newly discovered jump point. There's also a fifteen year time gap between SM1.5 and Armada.

Eh, 15 years were spent on development. Anything can be explained away - the post was more than a joke than anything else.

I have read Star*Soldier - it is interesting, however, the length of time certain events, names, etc can often remain altered or covered up in history. I actually don't think my crazy theory would be too far of a stretch in a galactic war with the utter scale of the Terran-Kilrathi war. We're still uncovering 'truths' and 'facts' about conflicts in the 20th century, and they were limited to a single planet! ;)

It's mainly all the other stuff. The fifteen years is just one more thing. I know you were joking, but this is how some things start. :) I could go for 15 years on the Behemoth or something, but then you have the giant Tiger's Claw/Confederation ships which came together in just a couple or three years.
