Kilrathi Language

You may want to search the forums. Over the years this topic has come up and there are some good threads out there that are filled with the information you are seeking. There should be several containing what Kil words we do know.
 
I always wondered. Do the Kilrathi do it like on the Discovery channel. Are there any Kilrathi Karmasutra books we can research?
Weird how Klingon is a spoken language... Then again there are alot more Star Trek nuts out there the Wing commander nuts.
Do some research and creat a Kilrathi dictionary. We'd all need subtitles though.

At any rate, has the Dralthi cockpit ever been translated? There is writing in there, right? (I don't get home to check until tomorrow)
 
I do remeber noticing a silularity to the klingon symbol and the kilrathi one. I never did compare the two languages but I do happen to have the klingon english dictionary and cd somwhere. I think Im gonna have to geek out and brush up to mess with my coworkers and customers at work! choppa das?

Yes to the thread question, and sorta for the other stuff.

The Dralthis we flew in SM2 had tape labels with English translations of the Kilrathi labels for various components and such, but I don't think (though I could be wrong) they showed the original kat script that was translated for the sake of the human pilots flying them.

Straight from the WC 3 manual ("Victory Streak"):

"KILRATHI LANGUAGE

The Kilrathi writing system was first seen in the cockpit of a captured Dralthi fighter. The language is written in sets of four vertical lines. Each vertical line comprises a full line, a split line or a shorter line with a dot above or below it. This set of four lines creates a single syntactic element. Vertical sets of the four-line pictograph equivalents are sentences. "

And in the Dralthi Mk. II cockpit, which you fly in the Secret Missions 2 (add-on to WC 1) you can see next to the radar (IIRC) an example of this language.

The movie Kilrathi language looks quite different and there's also a font downloadable.

Does anyone have a picture of the cockpit of the Dralthi in SM2?

I thought one would be here but the site appears to be down and I couldn't find it using Internet Archive either.

Seems I didn't recall correctly the position of the writings in the Dralthi cockpit: it's at the side of the VDUs.

Man, that picture brought back memories. I forgot how much fun it was to fly those Dralthi II's. Not "fun" in the sense that the Rapier, or the Dragon, or the Excalibur was fun, but "fun" in the sense that it was different.

Definitely not fun when you had to go up against Gwenhyvar Rapiers piloted by cats. Made you feel almost sorry for all those Dralthi pilots you burned when in a Rapier...
