Kilrah II?

Lt.Overload

Rear Admiral
What was the Kilrathi's homeworld after Kilrah's destruction. Did they find some planet to call Kilrah II or something?

I'm not sure they ever named one, or could have agreed to. In between the end of the war and the Nephilim invasion they were pretty much locked in a non-stop civil war between various clans.

Eisen: Melek and his convoy are seeking safe passage back to their new homeland in Pasqual

thats the quote from wc4.

My feeling is that it's just where Melek's faction had chosen to make their home. Temporary, or otherwise.

Well, when Melek needed rescuing in WC4, his home was an outpost orbiting Pasqual X. I am not saying that this is the new Kilrathi homeworld, it in all likelihood only pertains to Melek, but I thought I'd bring it up.

Maybe call it a candidate.

Pasqual only pertains to Melek. Think about Ragark and Baka Kar, because the civil war hasn't been settled yet there is no one place that can be called the new "homeworld."

i think a race thats so clan-focused didn't have a very tight bonding to their original homeplanet other than "that's where orders come from". With the Kiranka clan dead, the Kilrathi lost its unifying factor. That's why they lost the war, and now the more civilized clans just want to be left in peace and the others resort to piracy.
Those Kilrathi not born on Kilrah (so pretty much everyone left) probably didn't care about it that much and had tighter bondings to their own home planets. Those that survived its destruction MAY have colonized a new planet and called it KilrahII or New Kilrah or whatever, but i doubt its significance would be greater than that of the older colonies.
That's my interpretation at least.

That flies against Confed Intel's assessment as given by Paladin in WC3.

Paladin said:
Their entire culture is based on a strict, centralised hierarchy: ‘All roads lead to Kilrah’. Every Kilrathi lives and dies for the Emperor. Destroy that hierarchy… and you destroy them.
Granted, Confed Intel is seldom correct, but I think that, given what happened after the destruction of Kilrah, their interpretation is more accurate than yours in this particular case.

It might be somewhere inbetween though, since we know that a significant number of Kilrathi most loyal to the emperor and kilrah commited ritual suicide at the end of the war. Those that didn't likely didn't have quite as much attachment to Kilrah itself.

That's what i meant, the hierarchy was what made Kilrah so important. After both were destroyed i don't think there was an overwhelming mass of Kilrathi who wanted a new planet called Kilrah just for nostalgic reasons.

Well they're actually try to reconstruct the old one! They Even want human help! check the S*S classifeids page!

As for Paladins quote- it is not that correct. There were quite a few Kilrathi that were more loyal to their clan than to the Emperor. and there are remarks about Thrakath trying to put the clans under more direct control of the Kiranka Clan and Emperor both in Academy TV and in some movie related sources as me and LOAF mentioned in this thread:http://www.crius.net/zone/showthread.php?t=25189

I think the Kilrathi Post The Destruction of Kilrah....Relied more on The hierarchy of there's individual clans more than getting a new homeworld but......I'm sure that many were still looking...

There may be plenty of Kilrathi who don't care for the homeworld out there, but I still think Kilrah was special to some. Why else would Melek have surrendered with the words he spoke to Blair?

The cats were probably like 75% Religious (fateful to Kilrah), 20% Pirate, and 5% Civilian. A large amount of the religious cats killed themselves, while the others joined Melek and the Assembly.

This is just my personal guess.
