Jumpgate Accounts

pardon the spam, but...

For those who either are already in Jumpgate, or those who have applied, point your browser over to the squad homepage on JOSSH. Like the directive says, we're basically a training squad for helping new pilots, with several agreements made with other squads in the game.

Follow the instructions on the squad page, and I'll add you to the squad roster as soon as I can.

Pardon my ignorance.... but what is Jumpgate ????

Jumpgate is an online space sim RPG game. Its flight physics are between the pure newtonian model (action results in an equal but opposite reaction, in motion will stay in motion while at rest will stay at rest unless acted on by an exteran force, etc) of Independence War, and the atmospheric model of WC, X-Wing, and so forth, though JG's model leans more towards newtonian physics.

Essentially, it's a lot like the general idea of the canceled Privateer Online, in that you play an independent pilot looking to make a buck.

You need a grat machine or Big conection ??
because i live in Argentina and have dial-up

you peeps, do you know how one could cancel a jumpgate account?

There's not a real way to do that. If you really need to, just reset the account like you're changing factions and email pilot support over at Netdevil and let them know you don't need the account anymore, something like that. It's what Klaus did, at any rate.

But is it of the kind of the old type RPGs, like Mekt describes as "pen-and-paper", except internet based? Or does it have some elaborate graphics?

Hmm... how are you picturing a space sim that doesn't have at least somewhat elaborate graphics?

Well, true... I guess if you call it "Space Sim" it must have graphics... but I was more thinking about the RPG aspect of the game...
It tunrns out that lots of today's online RPGs are email based... :)
