John Paul Jones Class Frigate Renders

Sylvester

Vice Admiral
I will have a description shortly. It enters service roughly around the time of my carrier, circa 2690.

A bit round compared to the angular carrier?

interesting shape, but i think it would fit with your other design better if it was squared off a bit and looked less like a cruise liner. keep up the good work, what program are you using?

Its reminds me of that crazy ship of the USA, the Merrimac or the other one, i can't remember.
The Monitor was the Union ship. And you're right, it makes me think of the Monitor :D

I really like this one. Are you planning to texture your models?

Oh yeah, it was the Monitor!

thanks.

take away the 2 torpedo tubes and crank up the shields and that baby could make one devastating broadside pass on cruisers or even battleships, especially in larger numbers.

Definitely needs a large cylindrical turret with two cannon on the top so it can be swiveled in any direction to face the enemy.

Way too small. Frigates are larger ships in Wing Commander -- because they're used for various roles (armored transport, missile boat, etc.) that require more internal space. The other big frigate we see in WC is three times as long as this one.

This is a concept....that can be reworked! I'm working on a newer model that is more angular and fits the concept.

you what I think might give it more of WC era look is if you rotated the front taper 90 degrees along the central axis, so that it has the same angle, but it tapers down from the bridge, and leave the back the way it is. It might look nice. Just an idea.

C.S.S. Virgina you mean? Hehe never guess what part of VA I'm from.
Personaly I think it look like a rounded off S class sub (U-boat).
