I seem to recall one of the pleasure base bartenders talking about how a bunch of off-duty Confederation officers trashed one of the base's clubs. With that in mind and considering the potential for danger that pirates, smugglers, and other socially undesirable individuals offer, wearing armor like that sounds like a rather intelligent decision.

Anyway, the name of the file is meaningless. The programmer probably just named it as such because the guy looks like a robot.

No, I meant the thing we see in the RF intro seemed patient (at Grayson's tirade, at least until Grayson threaten to blow him to "bits") and stupid (Grayson calls him a "tin idiot"), for a Human anyway. Also, the speech seemed modified to give the impression of an artificial intelligence.

People can be patient. People can be stupid. If you were talking to me from inside a big bubble, I'd bet that your voice would be distorted a bit, too.

(Also, don't discount the fact that the guard may have had some disability that impaired his speech.)

Interesting arguments. You're entitled to your view, of course, but I still think it was always meant to be a robot, even if that's not how it fits in the WCU.

Feel free to carry on the discussion, I'm going home. :)
