Over different ways I got informations that quite a lot of people here not even don't like me, but that they hate me.
Well I think that these person should came out of there hiding place and tell me directly, because I don't like it when people talk bad about me behind my back.

So when you have a problem with me tell me and give me some reasons. It should be possible to talk about such kind of things.
(OK sometimes I am also a lillte bit stubborn, but I will mostly listen to good reasons)

I have also heard rumors that some here just don't like be because if my spelling mistakes.
If that is true...well thats so silly I can only feel pity for that kind of people...grow up, open your mind, the world is more then just this.

I write this even with the risk to get banned again, but I feelt like there is some need to talk about this.



Oh befor I forgot...this hasn't anything to do with the Wing Commander Saga mod as I am no longer a official part of it, as you can see at my sig!!!
 
Frankly, who cares if someone "hates you"? This is a MESSAGE BOARD. There are bound to be people that dislike you because of your spelling or an idea you bring up, but if there are those kind of people ONLINE. Like you mentioned, they haven't come out and told you, so why should you worry about them? Ignore the online immaturities and just post on the board like it was meant to be.
 
Well the bad stuff told about me seams to interfeare with the work I had done on the Wing Commander Saga mod...and since I realy like it I don't want that someone else talk bad about it, just because he dosn't like be.
Beside that I am a person who cares how someone else is talking to him/about him...so I would just like to know about it.
 
I've also been very close to quitting both Standoff and Saga because of this exact same thing. Online abuse is still abuse.

Well then tell me what kind of "pissing people off" you mean.
Was it that I had thought about changing things, that I have taken a look at other peoples thought.....be more exact when sending me messages like that.
Beside you can realy post here official since I will post everthing here what you send me.
Thats the sence why I started this thread...a open discussion where you can offend me as long you give a clear reason.

What can I do? I went on tour with my band and hoped things would get better later. But every single time I post anything on this board it results in someone wither caling me stupid, calling me an idiot, or the entire thread derailing and everyone blaming me. Frankly, I'll be more careful in where I post which I guess is what they want. So in response, I'm not dealing with it, I'm letting myself be dealt with.

It's not like that we hate you...but sometimes the dreaded fanboy disease sizes you. Just look at your 'liberal' stance on WC concernicng introducing new models and remodeling others. WC has a more established history than any spacesim else. You can't simply go and say 'hey this looks like shite. Let's change it!!!' Concerning the part of remodeling stuff, you seem to share the oppinion of Concordia; well it's your oppinion that the WC1 models look bad or inappropriate or whatever...but other people think they're just fine. But you say that now with the new game engines and all, we have an obligation to make the models look better. But that's just YOUR oppinion! There are helluva lot of different ways to make ships look better without scrweing everything from Origin over. Concerning inserting new ships...as said WC has a very well established history...so putting in new stuff contradicts almost everytime something in WC history. And the explanation 'but my l33t sUper ships is soooo cool' isn't enough. There areways to introduce new stuff, but it requires work to come up with something that's both cool and makes sense.
And concerning WCS you seem to be a bomb waiting to go off. As soon anyone says something against FS apparently you believe that everyone thinks our mod's going to be crap just because we use FS for it or whatever. If it's going to suck, it's because we didn't worked hard enough and not because of the engine don't you think ;)

Yeah - BUT. Your reply here seems entirely sensible. I can buy that. WHat I cant' buy is a mile long quote of my well thought out, however unagreeable opinion, followed by

"You're an idiot."

That just isn't right. Doesn't matter how much You disagree with someone.

Well even some of concordias changes are to heavy for me, but the different between some people here and me is that I first take a look at done work and not start flamming her befor anything has been shown.
Beside that even when Concordias changes where quite drastical...they had some sence in it (sometimes)
Call it a liberal view of things if you like.

I don't say that all the WC1+2 model are bad. Basicly they are quite good, but some could need some rework concerning the details.
For excample the Bengal tower is quite undetailed..could need some refreshment.
Parts of the fralath look to flat...what about giving it some hight?

About the changes... I have allways posted the changes and ideas I had in the internal and not just told someone to release it.
Best excample would be my Waterloo model or the Bengal.
I have showed them, told my thoughts why I have done this or that. It wasn't wellcome so I have put it away and it will never make it into the mod.

Can't remeber that I ever told someone that the only reason why we should use a specific model is just because I like it.
I have also changed many thing in my story to fit it into the WC Univers and timeline....even when I thought that having a Bengal ingame again would be quite cool.

Well I have tried to explain things..special with the Dubav and Eagle class, but the only reaction I got was "You are an idiot stop working on it" and such things.
Other thing...could you explain me the reason why the Manassas has a special hangarbay for fighters (Psych had mentioned it has fighters) when not even an Arrow would fit into it?

And concerning WCS you seem to be a bomb waiting to go off. Can't follow your thoughts in that point, but what happens to FS dosn't matter to me. About the bombing stuff....some people react if someone is there and allways tells you what an idiot you are....and if some people are called to often an idiot they explode...its a quite normal reaction to me.

I can say that's the only problem I've ever had with you too, Lars. Do I hate you for your spelling mistakes? No. Do I hate you for being stubborn? No. Do I hate you for trash talking the Vision engine when I'm absolutely certain that what I've done with it is a bazillion times better than what you can do with <insert engine name here>? Well, a little, yes. But apart from that issue, do I even hate you personally? No. I hate people who are under the influence of what Lynx called the dreaded fanboy disease... sometimes it just happens to be you, but I don't see why anyone should get worked up over wheter I hate them or not.

And to avoid allowing for a mis-interpretation of the sentece "You are an idiot" (not being sarcastic... I understand what kind of reply Gryphon is referring to, and I don't agree with that behavior either - unless people have really been begging for it for too long), let me put it this way: In my most humble of opinions, which by the way should be meaningless to everyone else on the planet, the dreaded fanboy disease of "I can make WC better" is idiotic - therefore, in my opinion, everyone who acts like that is behaving like an idiot.
 
I'm sorry if people are treating you like an ass but this is the internet. You shouldn't have your feelings hurt because someone typed a bunch of words towards you. I think you need thicker skin.

I'm not sure why Frosty called you an asshole, but he's probably right in saying so. I've known him for a while and he doesn't say that without good reason.

I think everyone needs to take a chill pill and ease back on the throttle. We're all friends here. Until your instigator shows his cowardly face, Lars, don't worry about it. We all have things to do IRL that take precendence over kicking each other's ass. To think otherwise makes you Phillip Tanaka.

Even here, the projects Eagle, Dubav and Manassas should not to be spoken off. People will see it when it's time. About the Manassas, well it has five shuttles, the have to be parked somewhere. And given the size of that ship. at least an Arrow would fit into the bay. It's much bigger than a destroyer, mind you.

BTW the part you didn't understand: It seems to me that everytime someone makes a bad comment about FS, you seem to believe that these people think that our mod will suck because the engine we use is from a game that they don't like. See the argument in our screenshot thread.
 
Wow, how could you ever think this thread was a good idea? These forums *aren't* a place for you to bitch about how nobody likes you, or for other people to bitch about how much they hate you. The *Wing Commander Chat* forum is even less of a place for this, as I don't think you're Wing Commander.

Talk to whoever you have problems with through email, or PM and leave your personal squabbles off this board.

For the record, I don't believe I hate anyone, on the internet or off... It's not worth the effort. I do, however, hate it when people do or say stupid things. Stupid things include posting this thread, sadly.
