I have installed WC secret ops, but the site where i am supposed to get my numeric key is gone. :( can someone please help.

Do i have to buy prophecy gold to get the other episodes.
(If i do, i have wasted 15 minutes downloading the first one)
 
Unless you find them ILEGALLY online, you must buy WCPGold to get them. They were online as a limited time offer.
 
I will, i have to buy WCP anyway. :D
Is there anything new in WCPG.
Aliens vs. Predator gold had a few new weapons for the marines.
 
I don't get why it's suddenly illegal to download the missions. If the liscence thingy means you need Prophecy Gold, then doesn't that technically mean that people who originally downloaded it when they were free, are now in possesion of illegal goods?

They gave it away as a freebie, then they stopped giving it away, and you can get it only by buying it. IT happens all the time with thousands of products. It is not that complicated. How can't you understand it.
 
Interestingly enough, the initial package contains ships not used in the first episode. You can use WCPEdit to see them.

My question was does that mean by the episodes being only found in Prophecy gold mean that I am in possession of illegal goods? Am I doing the wrong thing by having a copy of these files?
I understand that they cannot be downloaded for free anymore, I never argued or complained otherwise.
 
If you obtained them during the initial run of the episodes, then no, most likely not, but one of the admins probably knows more than I do.

Reason I ask is because I remember another game that did a similar thing and the liscence agreement was basically like shareware, where you must delete the program if you don't register.
 
Long story short, if you downloaded the episode files when the special was running (fall 1998), you get to keep them for as long as you want. If you didn't get them then, WCPG is the only legal way to get the full WCSO.

That some sites still have the episode files available to the public doesn't say much for their honesty.
