How did you feel when

Colonel Jim said:
I give the following situations, and I want to know how you reacted to them.

1: When Hobbes betrayed Confed and mostly Blair, and Cobra died(WC3)
2: When Angel died? (WC3)
3: Who did you pick Rachel or Flint? and why?(WC3)
4: When you saw the Victory ram itself into the Kilrathi Flagship (WC3)
5: When Eisen was relieved of command by Paulsen (WC4)
6: When Eisen defected to the Border Worlds (WC4)
7: Vegabond died (WC4)
8: When you found out that Tolwyn was the bad guy afterall (WC4)
9: St Helens came out of the Jump Point and shot the crap out of the Vesuvius (WC4)
10: Christopher Blair wasn't the main Character in Wing Commander Prophecy
11: Christopher Blair died (WCP)

You don't have to answer them al but some of them would be nice. Who will do the kick-off?

1: Why?
2: ANGEL!!!
3: Can't go wrong with a pron star.
4: Farewell, Tin Can Sally.
5: (Have not played IV yet)
6: (Have not played IV yet)
7: (Have not played IV yet, but I know Vagabond) Wait a minute, he still owes me money. What a jerk!
8: (Have not played IV yet, oh my brother)
9: (Have not played IV yet)
10: Passing the torch.
11: OMG! THEY KILLED BLUEHAIR! YOU BUG BASTARDS!

1: When Hobbes betrayed Confed and mostly Blair, and Cobra died(WC3)
Was shocked that he did so! Never expected him todo it.
2: When Angel died? (WC3)
I thought perhaps she was a prisoner somewhere, never suspected that she was killed.
3: Who did you pick Rachel or Flint? and why?(WC3)
I thought Rachael was a little better. :D
4: When you saw the Victory ram itself into the Kilrathi Flagship (WC3)
Heroic defeat.
5: When Eisen was relieved of command by Paulsen (WC4)
Things were very strange. I had a big dislike for Paulsen at that point.
6: When Eisen defected to the Border Worlds (WC4)
Was shocked that he did so, but I had to follow him.
7: Vegabond died (WC4)
That was a shame, he was such a good pilot and I enjoyed having him on my wing.
8: When you found out that Tolwyn was the bad guy afterall (WC4)
Shocking, but the best character development I have seen out of many games.
9: St Helens came out of the Jump Point and shot the crap out of the Vesuvius (WC4)
Brilliant scene!!
10: Christopher Blair wasn't the main Character in Wing Commander Prophecy
Disapointed, but things have to change.
11: Christopher Blair died (WCP)
Didn't know he did till I read this bit.

You see the Victory ram the H'varkahn if you lose WC3.

The conversation on the Bridge is.

Bridge, TCS Victory.
Rollins: Sir, all our shields are down! We can’t stop them!
Eisen: They are not taking my ship!
Rollins: Sir! What are you doing? You’re heading right into their fleet!
Eisen: We’re going to take as many of them with us as we can! Make your peace, Mr Rollins–

Then Tin Can Sally slams into the side of the Dreadnought....and barely makes a dent.

As I recently pointed out in the Grand Fleet thread, the Victory most certainly destroyed that dreadnought.

1: When Hobbes betrayed Confed and mostly Blair, and Cobra died(WC3)
Since I had the Guide (which includes a CD containing the Script), I learned why...Hobbes was played like Rachel plays the skin flute.
2: When Angel died? (WC3)
I left Thrakhath smoldering and got back to the Victory in time for supper.
3: Who did you pick Rachel or Flint? and why?(WC3)
First Flint...once I got older and knew who Rachel was, things changed just a bit (here's an antimatter gun for ya'!)
4: When you saw the Victory ram itself into the Kilrathi Flagship (WC3)
I intentionally lost to see that...if the DN went down in flames, killing Thrak and the Emperor, there'd be some final justice for Confed
5: When Eisen was relieved of command by Paulsen (WC4)
Something's wrong
6: When Eisen defected to the Border Worlds (WC4)
I knew something was wrong! C'ya later, Confed!
7: Vegabond died (WC4)
Just like Wild Bill Hickock and Spirit...Dead Man's Hand gets you every time
8: When you found out that Tolwyn was the bad guy afterall (WC4)
ok....now where's Tank Girl??
9: St Helens came out of the Jump Point and shot the crap out of the Vesuvius (WC4)
That was too close.
10: Christopher Blair wasn't the main Character in Wing Commander Prophecy
He could have used some more air time, but hey, you have to pass the torch sometime.
11: Christopher Blair died (WCP)
felt down, but my spirits raised after torpedoing Stilletto, Finley, and Rachel ;)

8: When you found out that Tolwyn was the bad guy afterall (WC4)

I remember it was about 2 in the morning . . . It took me a second to figure out exactly what was happening when he stepped up to the podium. I remember feeling somewhat shocked, but also desperately sleepy, and so I went to bed. I was more saddened when I saw him swinging from the rafters than when I learned of his treachery.

1: That guy that told you that must have been on the loosing track (someone spoiled that detail to me).
2: *shrug*
3: Flint - she seemed to be the more natural choice plot wise (missed a couple of Rachel scenes on the flight deck back then). Still think that she is the more natural choice in the game however.
4. That's only in the negative end, isn't it?
5. Anger and frustration. Hoped that Paulsen was only an asshole on first glance.
6. Hoped for some sort of covered ops.
7. Didn't care all that much
8. I wondered if there wasn't some sort of master plan at first. Later I just wondered about the why
9. Heroic feeling. "All will turn good now"
10: Didn't really matter to me.
11: I thought it was only for dramatic effect and he would suddenly bpop up in the end movie. When he didn't I felt cheated.

<1: When Hobbes betrayed Confed and mostly Blair, and Cobra died(WC3)>
"Damn it, Cobra. Why did you have to be right?"
2: When Angel died? (WC3)
"Thrakath, I will be the one who kills you for this. Maybe not today, but I will be
the one."
3: Who did you pick Rachel or Flint? and why?(WC3)
I actually flip a coin each time. Head for flint, tails for Rachel.
4: When you saw the Victory ram itself into the Kilrathi Flagship (WC3)
"This is it."
5: When Eisen was relieved of command by Paulsen (WC4)
"okay.....why?"
6: When Eisen defected to the Border Worlds (WC4)
"What's he doing?"
7: Vegabond died (WC4)
"damn it Vag. Why did you have to be a hero?"
8: When you found out that Tolwyn was the bad guy afterall (WC4)
"And I didn't see this before?"
9: St Helens came out of the Jump Point and shot the crap out of the Vesuvius (WC4)
"YES! THANK YOU EISEN!"
10: Christopher Blair wasn't the main Character in Wing Commander Prophecy
"hey something new. This should be interesting."
11: Christopher Blair died (WCP)
"Good bye Chris."

1: When Hobbes betrayed Confed and mostly Blair, and Cobra died(WC3)

The one time I should have listened to Maniac and never trust a furball, Hope he can keep his mouth shut and not rub it in.

2: When Angel died? (WC3)

Why do all of my women die on me? Just my luck hmmm maybe I should get involved with some furballs to help the war effort.. everybody loves kittens so why cant I?

3: Who did you pick Rachel or Flint? and why?(WC3)

I got a guaranteed score with a pornstar.... welll maybe not :(

4: When you saw the Victory ram itself into the Kilrathi Flagship (WC3)

we are confed not the japanese imperial navy.. kamakaze is not the answer, it diddnt help the imperial navy so it wont help here.. :D

5: When Eisen was relieved of command by Paulsen (WC4)

Awww C'mon give him another chance

6: When Eisen defected to the Border Worlds (WC4)

Phew I'm glad he was demoted after all damn traitor

7: Vegabond died (WC4)

Why god.. why... It should have been Maniac.. Vegabond was normal!! Why god!!

8: When you found out that Tolwyn was the bad guy afterall (WC4)

no your kidding me right? how did that get passed intellegence... eh oh well promotions all around woo hoo.. now I can take that vacation I put in for when I left the academy

9: St Helens came out of the Jump Point and shot the crap out of the Vesuvius (WC4)

Ah now I see where the name and the mountain connect.. but whait a second isnt vesuvius a volcano too?

10: Christopher Blair wasn't the main Character in Wing Commander Prophecy

What the heack? Who is this putz? where is blair? .. I was jipped.. I wanna refund.. oh my bad I get it.. next generation of fighter pilots and he got promoted. guess I should have read the box.. oh well.. I hope by Dual voodoo2s can keep up with my mad piloting skills... yep glad I invested in the SLI config game looks awesome, I still miss the cockpit with the synconised hand though. oh well

11: Christopher Blair died (WCP)

Nooo Jedi's cant die. Die is not in their vocabulary.. oh wait a minute my bad goonies cant say die :D
I'm still in denial myself. but my makeshift memorial with the etenal flame I made in my back yard is helping me cope with the tragic loss of my hero. Its great for roasting marshmallows too :D

1)I felt played.
2)It almost hit right at home.
3)Racheal, b/c she is a blonde.
4)I can't believed I sucked this bad.
5)Confused.
6)Can't beat 'em, join 'em.
7)Although it was foreshadowed in the card game w/Maniac, still a little surprised.
8)Suprised, with some sorrow at the end.
9)Relieved.
10)A little excited that you were a different character.
11)Left wanting to know if he really wanted to get off the alien ship, or die killing them.

Peace,

Echo

One thing I learned about these message boards:

Never read threads about WC games that you haven't played/completed.

I know the outcome of WC 4 now so I don't have to get it free from Loaf! Oh well. Heh.

Do you realize in choosing Rachael, you were indirectly making Mr Luke Skywalker kiss several hundred male pornstars?

That's stupid. Would you deny kissing Denise Richards because she kissed Charlie Sheen, who kissed Rachel in the early 90's?

Besides, she must have "kissed" at least as many women as she did men in those movies... (G)

(Mark Hamill's agent, though, apparently had an issue with the whole kiss scene...)

Because she was a pornstar or because he had to kiss no less than 5 times durnig the production?

(5 times - Two scenes with Rachel, Two with Flint, and one with Angel)

Hey, at least there weren't any sex scenes.

(Though I seem to recall hearing that Hamill starred in several softcores in the early 90s or so ...)
