Hobbes explanation?!

Hobbes was the product of an Idenity Overlay project, set up by Prince Thrakkath. Hobbes is truth never truely exsisted. When Thrakkath sent the Signal, Hobbes' true Idenity would emerge and do his duty as a Kilrathi. To put it simplely Hobbes was a Sleeper Agent

Just wondering what was the explanation he gave when he Blair got after the battle?!

Here's the full text of Hobbes' speech from the Wing Commander III novel... it best explains the situation: "Colonel Blair, I am returning to my Homeworld, but my admiration for you compels me to provide an explanation for my actions. You must understand that the being you knew as Hobbes was a construct, the result of an identity-overlay experiment initiated long ago by Imperial Security at the behest of Prince Thrakhath. You have never met the real Ralgha nar Hhallas, nor would you have become his friend, for he was and is dedicated to the service of the Empire. Only the construct-personality could become your comrade and friend. I myself was entirely unaware of my true self until the message broadcast by Prince Thrakhath that day at Delius, the message where you were given your Kilrathi title, the Heart of the Tiger. Embedded in combination with a signal embedded in that transmission, the phrase 'Heart of the Tiger' was the trigger that awakened my true personality, hidden for so many years. There were buried messages within it that gave me my Prince's instructions, which I have carried out since that day. Once Ralgha nar Hhallas was restored within me, I had no choice but to act as I did. Thus, my friend, you possess the Heart of the Tiger, but I am the Heart of the Tiger... Kilrathi do not surrender, my old friend, and neither do they betray a trust once given. And yet, in being true to my race and obedient to my duty, I have been forced to betray you. For though I am no longer the same being you once named Hobbes and befriended when I was alone among strangers, I retain a full memory of everything that Ralgha thought and did. I remember you, Colonel, for what you were and are, and know that you are an honorable warrior. If I could have performed my duty without betraying you, I would have done so, but that was not possible. And if we meet again... we will have no choice but to perform our duties... with honor. I hope, Colonel Christopher Blair, that we need never meet in battle. But if we do, I will salute you as a warrior... and I will mourn you, as a friend lost to me forever."

One more thing did Blair shave in WC4?!

Yup. Keeping Mark Hamill scruffy for Wing 3 was a device to reinforce Confed's desparate situation at that point in the war. Making him clean-shaven in Wing 4 was to convey the 'spit and polish' nature of the post-war Confed military.

Picking up on WC3, does the game start right after the Kilrathi attack on Earth?

Also, is that secret operations Carrier last described in the Victory Streak timeline actually the Lexington from Armada?

Ah ha sir, the secret ops carrier is indeed the Lexington from Armada

I think that WCIII starts several months after the Battle of Terra (As the Concordia survived the conflict.) but I may be wrong, perhaps one of the others......

I don't know, all I do know is that She was really banged up (From years of abuse) when she was destroyed and that Blair and Taggart were surveying the wreck which had crash landed in a planets (I forget the name) ocean. Any ways, this planet wasn't from our solar system, so I am merely speculating that the Concordia survived the conflict

... Vespus, off the Mistral Coast. :(

How many Confederation-class ships were built and are any of them still operating in 2681?

The thinking is that five or six were built, given the ability to produce one a year (we know the Concordia was built in 2661, and that the Confederation probably wasn't built until 2660 given five years to tool up a yard after the capture of the Sivar's weapon in 2655... then one a year every year after that until they stopped producing them in 2665.)

If the Concordia survived the conflict how was she destroyed?

The Concordia was ambushed during a rearguard action in the Vespus System, and destroyed there. She had survived the Battle of Terra (in Fleet Action)... but because of the damage she'd taken, she was re-assigned to patrol 'safe sectors' (Voices of War).

It starts about eight months later. Blair has recovered from his wounds during the fighting at Earth and is reassigned to the TCS Victory.

The Secret Ops carrier mentioned in Victory Streak *is* the carrier from Armada... and it's further theorized that the Secret Ops team mentioned in Voices of War is Angel and company headed to Kilrah.

So what was Blair doing during Fleet Action?

He was Wing Commander on the Concordia during the Battle of Terra... during which he was shot down and badly wounded. He spent some time afterwards in a military hospital.

Bandit, do you know the names of any of the Confederation-Class ships other than the TCS-Confederation, and the TCS-Concordia?

-Concordia

So the Kilarthi will never be friends with humans.....sad....too sad!
I remember once in WC2, a cutscene, where a transmission is going on with the prince or some Kilarthi. A technichan will walk in and he'll be surprised to see Hobbes talking to the kilrathi. Next thing is the technician will get shot. Is that the one?

No, that was *Jazz* speaking Kilrathi. :) He was the traitor in WC2, and he shot the tech (Specialist McGuffin).

No, those are the only two that are ever given.
