HELP!

Roberts admitted he wanted to more with the comms in WCIV, but he just didn't have the money -sigh...-. He did say that, for the most part, he was satisfied with how ithey came out.

Well after the war they had the room to do stuff like devote resources to making full color comm screens. They were green even in WC1/2

That's what I mean! From the start we have these sucky little green screens, I felt very strange about that... We travel faster than light in mile-long ships with artificial gravity and I just pulled a 20G turn without feeling it... but we still use green monochrome screens like some old TSR-80?!

I thought that they didn't do as much with the Kilrathi voices in WCP. It sounded like a guy with phlegm in his throat, as opposed to the true lion's growl quality in WC3-4.

They said nice things and they sounded like warriors :)

But true, the best voice I have heard is Melek in WCIV, they really nailed the growl/whine mix well on that one.

The thing I didn't like about Thrakhath in WC3, that was WAY better in 2, was his face. In 3 it looks too ape-ish. And he doesn't open his mouth very far, and his arms look stuck on at the elbows. In two, although he had no animation other than his mouth and eyes, his face was that of a Tiger-like alien, and when he spoke, you could see the fangs, he was ready to take a bite outta some thing. In 3, he'd be lucky to get his mouth around a golf ball :D

I found it cooler to see those cartoon Kilrathi in WC2 and even cooler to hear them talk!

Pity the lipsynch was out when I purchased my NEW 6x86-133 with 2mb Diamond Stealth 64 bit card (wowsers!!!) and 16 megs of ram!!!

At least it was better than the old 486DX2-66 with 4 megs!

About lipsync... Has anyone noticed that in the Secret Missions the lipsyns is totally out? I mean in WC, the Vega campaign, they actually say what the text says, You can see that... but in SM1 and SM2, they say this bizarre sentence... it ends with a sequence of "ee" "oh", considering mouth shapes... no matter whether Blair is saying Yes sir, or Halcyon is filling up the whole screen with blue lettering, it's always the same length and always with the EE OH ending... Does anyone actually know what they characters are saying? I thoght this would have been a good time for CR to put in an insult or something ;)

They just stopped trying to do the lipsynch for the addons, though, and they repeat the same phrases over and over.

Yeah, I just thought maybe You guys, (LOAF and other knowledge bastions) knew what they were saying, like an easter egg of some sorts, if they were saying "buy Ultima VIII" or something... *lol*
