Help with WC:KS WC1 SM1 and 2

Hi all

Would like assistance in getting WC1 SM1 and 2 working. For some
reason after I zip the files to wc2 dir. the program wont run. I keep
getting booted back to my desktop or game crashes.

First, I clicked on" sm1inst.exe" to load the files. Then I closed the
installer dialog screen. As you know, the "sm1inst" updates the wc1
files for sm1 etc. Then I start KS the nomal way and get the sm's
dialog screen. Once I click on the sm box, I go to the main screen.
Then when I click on SM, the game crashes or I get booted back to my
desktop.

I have no problems with KS:WC2 SO 1 and 2. It works fine.

Iam using an analog joystick---Wingman Logitech--connected to my game
port. Also, when I disconnect the joystick, the SM's work! Odd?

Any assistance apprieciated

PS I tried using Win XP compat mode for "sm1inst.exe" '95 and '98 and
still no action. My os is WinXP Pro.
 
If it's anything like Prophecy, then the problem must be in the joystick. If it consistently works with the joystick unplugged, then that might the problem.

Two solutions in that case: Play with the keyboard, or get a new joystick and see if it works then.
 
I just recently brought a Thrustmaster USB stick. Wc2 SO did not work with it. So I got a analog stick and it (wc2) works fine. Only thing I can say is somehow the analog stick does not work with wc1. :eek:

Were you playin' WC2 in DOS, or under Win 9x or better?...

USB ain't recognized by DOS, so that's prolly why you couldn't get to to work. Even IF you were playing it under Win, that still might be a factor, since "DOS in Win" support for some (Win-specific) features can be kinda flaky...

Wc2/SO1/SO2 works so it musnt be the joystick or something.

Try Download SM1/SM2 again.....

No luck with re-download files. Downloaded from CIC files.:(

looks like "keyboard" action with SM1 and 2 :eek:
 
I dont remember well but I think that when back then I downloaded either SO1/So2 or Sm1/Sm2 from CIC the files where corrupted...


Maybe it was Sm1/Sm2 I dont remember.Try download it from Origin.
