Help with .wav files

Why won't the ship sales pitch .wav files play in any of my players or load in any of my wavefile editors?

Because they're .ogg files actually.
Try renaming them to .ogg, and if that doesn't work, try to download oggdec from vorbis' page which will decode it.

I already had to struggle with that, and I would try oggdec first
