Greetings, and a few questions.

Hey, first of all I'm amazed I found this site, I used to be a huge wing commander game fan as a kid, (all of 11 years ago  ) I even liked it more than Star Wars.

Now, Its been a few years (since Prophecy) that I was last into WC, I was severely disapointed in the movie, and I sort of lost interest after the games wouldn't work on my PC anymore.

Now, years later, after a conversation with a friend I decided to look up wing commander, and see if there were any new games or games I missed, and it brought me to this site. I was surprised Wing Commander was this big! they even had a cartoon TV series with all the original voices as well! (which was very cool, considering it was in a kids timeslot.)

They're also making a GBA game, which should be awesome (although they should have made it sprite based, like Super Wing Commander. From my experience all 3D GBA games have bited hard.)

Anyway, this is all stuff you know, so I'll get to the point. I never realized before yesterday that there were actual WC Novels, and from the reviews I've read, they sound pretty good. I was wondering if there were any Australians who visit these forums which could give me some advice where to buy them here. I searched a few Australian bookstore sites (Angus and Robertson, Dymocks etc) but they didn't have what I was looking for. (I'm mainly looking for the Heart of the Tiger and Price of Freedom Novelisations.)
Now Amazon.com has some terrific prices on them used, but its all from the USA, and in different areas, so I will probably end up paying more importing them, then the actual price of the novel. Anyone willing to offer some advice?

Thanks.

I'm an aussie and second hand shops a the best bet. I didn't know there was any till i saw freedom flight in there. Have you tried ordering from Dymocks? They told me in a few weeks they'll get action stations for me :)

Thanks for the help guys ;)

Dymocks appears to have most of them, but unfortunately not Heart of the Tiger, which is the one I'd want to read first.

It appears they have
Fleet Action
Freedom Flight
The Price of Failure (yes, thats the way they said it lol, I assume this means the price of Freedom)
and Pilgrim Stars.

Oh well, It looks like they are running out of prints of Heart of the Tiger, as Amazon.com only has them second hand.

I'm heading to the library tonight, I'll see if they have a copy, but I doubt it.

Again, thanks for the help!

Oh, Dymoks can order books in? I might see if they can order in a copy of HOTT, if not I may as well just start reading the other books.

IIRC, there haven't been (m)any actual 3D GBA games... just games that trick you into thinking they're 3D. That's why the Blue Roses 3D engine thing-a-magig is so amazing...

Hey, I live in adelaide too, cool. What do you mean "through borders"? You mean importing?

And Bandit Loaf, I've seen the videos for the engine, and it does look damn good. I hope the GBA version can live up to the name. (I think it would be difficult pulling out all the controls with 4 buttons, but hell, they ported Starlancer to the Dreamcast and made use of its 6 buttons fantastically.

Just that I've played a few 3d games, like parts of Star Wars Episode 2, and Cruisin World GBA (something like that) and they were terrible for 3d games. (to its credit though, Doom worked well in 3d on the GBA)

Heres hoping they have the prophecy storyline, albeit with cartoon character cutscenes (like in Super Wing Commander.)

Heh, when I read the first post, I thought I'd read it before, it looked quite similar to Gemini's (I think) first post. I'm from Sydney myself, and I've given up on finding the novels locally (I'm surprised you type in American too ;)), but it appears others have had better luck than me...

There's a book/magazine/café/software/etc store called Borders. AFAIK, it's quite new, I only saw it when they expanded one of the shopping centres nearby.
