I don't know what possessed me, but I didn't get out of the fleet (in Privateer I always ran away from the fleet to avoid stray shots), survived anyway.
But, I made the mistake of taking a couple missions in Oxford afterwards, on reputation repair. 17 retros and 17 kilrathi ... how in heck do you take those without respawning? At least they killed a lot of each other, but the one time I reloaded instead of respawning ... ouch, 34 retros ...
I learned my lesson, respawned and cleaned things out.
But they tend to cluster up, instead of triangulate like Privateer did.

Other note, upgrades are hard to find. I'm still trying to get the Isometal hull to spawn in Perry. Does the Demon eventually get an upgraded reactor to go with the slight shield upgrade?
Gun coolers? (I'm going, darn, I don't have much hullspace left).
Fusion cannon show up eventually, right?
Darn, shopping is a real pain sometimes.
But, the game is fun.
