Game Ends Mysteriously

I don't know if it's part of the game but in Wing Commander - Prophecy, about the 18th mission after attacking 3 ship destoryers, when the next mission starts and the ship launches, a message pops up stating my capital ship mas been destoryed. Why does it do this. Thanks.
 
'Tis a bug. Try playing simulator mission 7 for a few seconds. After doing that, the normal game should work properly again.
