Not sure if this is the right area for this but I saw that this poster is currently listed on Craigslist for $50 in Elmwood Park, New Jersey:

Here is the seller's description:

I had never seen this poster. It may be rare, I don't know. I looked on ebay and similar framed Chromart Star Wars posters are going for less. It's too far from me but may be of interest to others. I have no idea who the seller is and no financial involvement in this.

It could make a nice Valentine's Day gift . . .

It's nice and all, but without sounding like a cheap skate, you could probably DIY a nicer one - especially with some of the great hi-rest images available from the CIC. Nice find, though :)

It's nearly impossible to photograph, but this is actually a cool 3D picture made of layers of chrome. They look really neat in person.

Which is to say: cool find! These usually go for less than $50, but they show up so rarely that someone who is looking for this one might want to go ahead and pull the trigger.

For those interested, these were made by a company called Zanart which licensed Wing Commander in 1995. They put out shirts, hats and "ChromeArt" (which was their main product) for Wing Commander III and IV. Wing Commander IV came with a little flyer advertising it all. There were four pieces, two from Wing Commander III (the box art and this) and two from Wing Commander IV (the box art and a scene of a Lance landing on Telamon.)

I don't know /why/ chrome-ized sci-fi art was a thing we wanted in the 1990s, but we did... and how! I have a fat catalog somewhere of all the different chrome dealies they put out, for things like Star Trek, Star Wars, X-Files, superhero comics and so on. I believe I got it in the mail because my mother had bought me the Wing Commander IV hat and the Lance-on-Telamon shirt for my birthday in 1996... I remember her explaining that she'd picked that shirt because she thought I'd like the one with the spaceship best. My sophmore student ID picture from high school is me in a Wing Commander IV shirt with an eyepatch I will never look that cool again.

(I found a set of Chromeart years later, for $.99 in the remaindered stack at a comic book store just outside Boston. I'd flown up for the day and ended up having to carry a stack of framed Wing Commander chromearts around the city and on the plane home.)

Thanks for the background info Bandit LOAF! At $.99, I'd carry those around too.

I like DIY stuff as well and agree that there is great material at the CIC.
