Fleets

Again, thanks TC.

Sorry about the Map question, since I couldn't get my computer to run WC:P (Prophecy refuses to detect my mouse and crashes the game before it starts) and thus am uninformed of Post WC4 material (Except, if you count, False Colors)

Admiral Terrell did *not* command the tenth fleet -- the tenth fleet is never mentioned.

The CVEs carried a squadron of Rapier-C's, a squadron of Sabre-D's and a squadron of Ferrets. (15 fighters each).

At most, a CVE would be part of a Task Force, *not* the center of a fleet.

is it acceptable to call it a Saber? (for those of us in the U.S. who spell it RIGHT! :)) or would it HAVE to be the Engish spelling?

No, because the ship's name is Sabre... You call something by it's given name no matter what you think its spelling should be. For example, I always call the book "False Colors" rather than "False Colours" (unless I'm not paying attention) because that's what the author called it.

It's only 'right' if you speak American. :)

There are a few WC2 systems not mentioned on the WCP map too: Argarrio, Talbot, and a few others which B-Lo (ha!) undoubtedly knows off the top of his brain case. :)

Aw, give it a break. It's saber and color if you speak American and sabre and colour if you speak English, okay?

Except the name of the ship is Sabre, not Saber. You may spell the word sabre differently, but Sabre is a name and if you were to change it, you would be spelling it wrong.

TC

Oh... then I'm confused as to why you said what you did... We all agreed that Americans spell things differently than most of the rest of the English speaking world...

Ah well, no matter.

I also have a question about the WC Prophecy Map. Is there any systems on that map that aren't known of during WC2-3?
Hard question, yes, but I'm trying for continuity here...

What about the Dallas system :) How would we know about it if it has one circular jump point?

Also, its SABRE!!! Wow TC, I'm glad Canadians spell things the right way! :)

Fiddler's Green immediately comes to mind.

Dallas is a Confed colony, so we can assume that there are people there -- they just didn't reach it using a conventional jump line... they could have used a hopper drive, a special jump line, or a jump line that ceased to exist...

As for planets that aren't on the map -- there are hundreds...
