Hmmm, thanks for the offer Loaf, but once I finish a model, I prefer to think it is as accurate as it gets and get down to texturing it without further delays :P
Can you get me some Waterloo cruiser renders though? That's about the only confed ship left for me to do, besides the drayman... but I think I can handle a container with engines and a cockpit by myself <g>

Oh, that's the hangar...

But there's something that puzzles me... if the hangar is on the lower part of the base... how come in Privateer you take the elevator down from the hangar, into the main area (with ship dealer, bar, Mercenaries' guild etc. etc...)
What's in the big-sphere part then? :confused:
 
There are two hangar areas in Perry Naval base. Look in your Privateer manual, where there's a big shot of a Galaxy approaching Perry.... you can see Stilettos leaving from an opening in the top of the "big round area", AND a Centurion (I think) going inside the smaller hangar on the "bottom" of the station...... My guess is that there are separate landing bays for civilian and military craft, but that's beyond the point here.

As for the elevator, mpanty..... maybe the inside of the base is upside down :) No, really! Think about it! :D

Hmmmmmm... well, that's still pending... funny isn't it? I've got like one third of the ship models done, but I still don't know which engine to use :D

Thanks a lot, man, that'll be really helpful! I hope this model comes out better than my previous attempt (I made a Waterloo for the XWA WCTC once, it was full of bugs and to my knowledge they aren't even going to use it anymore... Gee, do I suck or what? :P)

Oh, just a little more info on the engine thing...
Here's the engines I've considered already, and their respective shortcomings:

Prophecy - will probably choke with my 2000-faced models
Freespace - see above, and also, limited to 1 waypoint per mission.... otherwise, it'd be perfect :(
XWA - too many things are hardcoded into the game's core, like hyperspace animations, for instance
Starlancer - I've never even tried to edit it, and it looks like many things can't be edited either, like in XWA.
Vega Strike - I'd rather wait a bit more to see how this progresses.... I don't want to find out that I'll have to re-write half of the engine once I've already converted all my models and such

And, as always, email me if anyone has any suggestions on this subject.
