Starman let us know that apparently EA Replay - a compilation of retro EA titles ported to the PSP - has been added to the European flavor of the Playstation network. The Threespeech Blog - a "semi official, an informal means of communication for PlayStation" - lists a number of new titles available for download for a small fee. Playstation Network users can download the compilation which includes both the original Wing Commander port for the SNES as well as the Secret Missions.

There's currently no info on when the games will be available on the North American version of the Playstation network and the title doesn't appear on their list of available games. The game does not appear on the US PSN update blog.

PSP content available to download via PS3 Store

Neat. I've been meaning to get a PS3 for some time now. This news is all the more reason to get one sooner rather than later...

Just in case there are people out there who don't know how the PSN works (imagine that!), it's common for things to be released in certain regions and never released elsewhere. This is especially common with PSone classics, where Japan gets most of the good stuff, America gets some good stuff and Europe (as always) is usually screwed. Just because EA Replay is showing up on the European PSN doesn't mean it will be showing up in Japan or America.

This is a great time to get a PS3, prices have dropped over the last few years and the system is finally hitting its stride with a pile of great exclusives.

I'm just wondering, is £15.99 or €19.99 really the best deal on EA Replay? I got a copy from Fry's for $5 just a month or so ago, a sixth of what it'll cost on PSN.

EA Replay has always been somewhat more expensive in Europe. It started at $20 in the US, but prices in Europe varied from €19.9 to £29.98 when it was released.
