Spaceman
Man, I am loving this program. I have pulled out some very old classic like Spirit of Excalibur and some of the Wing Commander games. I still have not figured out how to get Privateer to work yet, but I am working on it.

Yeah, it's great, the stickied thread in the tech forum has directions for Privateer.

Wow, that's great. I can't believe I am playing Privateer again. I had been thinking about putting together sort of a "legacy" machine for the old DOS games, but I guess I don't have to now. I just wush that I could get WC 3 KS to work right. I know a lot of people are having freezing issues, but I get them frequently, plus I can't alt-tab out of the game....I have to reset my machine. :(

How come it's asking me to calibrate joystick 2 after I calibrate the only joystick I have plugged in? Is it because my keyboard is USB? Sorry this turned into a tech question.

This happened to me at first. I think it happens because privateer seems to see modern joysticks as two different joysticks.

I solved this problem by creating a file called joyb.dat in my privateer folder (the file joya.dat represents joystick 1). This tricks the game into thinking that joystick 2 is calibrated. It should work after this.

What did you creat....a text file? If it is a DAT file, I am not sure how to make one of those.

Yeah... sorry I made it sound more complicated than it really is. As Chris said, copying joya.dat and renaming it joyb.dat is much easier and should work.
