Diverse Fleet Cruises Through WC 2634 (August 2, 2005)

The latest ships incorporated into the Wing Commander 2634 project come from diverse settings. The first shot released today includes a carrier from Wing Commander 3. A destroyer and corvette from Academy follow, and a starbase from Wing Commander 2 rounds out the bunch. It'll be pretty neat to see such an impressive fleet of assorted ships working together in the final mod. RAT says a bit more will be added to the Kilrathi fleet soon, and the beginnings of mission design are coming together.

As I read on various site and book - Ranger Class carier has starting operation in 2569 and stand on strategic reserv in 2635-2640... After Battle of the Earth it be recruit on servise and we are see it in WC3. In game it position as Light Carrier.. but in 2634 spacefighter is more smol dimension and Ranger may be in Fleet Carrier Class... In game it take 40 fighter, but in the begining it must be aproximately 60...
In Movie i calculate fighter on TCS Tiger's Claw - 20 rapier (12 in Angel wing, 2 on patrol TC and 6 on board) and 2 broadsword. But it have strong torpedo and missile weapons. I plase it in Strike Carrier Class and increase broadsword up to 4.

2584 is the service entry date for the Ranger, based on a quote from the Heart of the Tiger novelization. There's nothing in the continuity about 'strategic reserve' -- and since Victory herself was comissioned in 2634, it seems unlikely that they were already off the front lines in 2635. I don't see any reason for the fighter complement to go up - fighters in 2634 are pretty much the same as fighters in 2669.

The Tiger's Claw's complement is 104 fighters. Angel was commander of Black Lion squadron, one of six which made up the 88th Fighter Wing. The Black Lions were one of three squdrons flying CF-117b Rapiers off the 'Claw at the time. The other two were the Mongrols and the Screamin' Shepards. Killer Bee squadron flew Hornets, Star Slayer squadron flew Raptors and Blue Devil squadron flew Scimitars. Each of these squadrons, at full strength, had fourteen of their primary fighters and two slots for limited role spacecraft. The Black Lions flew Broadswords as did one other squadron. Other units flew Epees, Sabres and an unidentified class of interceptor.

The 'claws armament includes eight dual laser turrets, twenty dual laser batteries and foryt torpedo tubes.
