It could happen. Suchet, perhaps best known as Captain Sansky in the Wing Commander movie, is rumored to be a contender for a part in the upcoming James Bond movie.
IGN inquired with Suchet's reps at Endeavor about their client's possible involvement with Casino Royale. "That's not confirmed," a rep told us, adding that they were "not at liberty to discuss it" in any way. Endeavor did confirm that Suchet is currently "in negotiations" for a few projects and mulling "a couple of offers."

Suchet's management firm, Seven Summits Pictures & Management, was similarly evasive when asked about Casino Royale. "We cannot confirm that," they advised us.

None of Suchet's reps offered a denial.

Contrary to earlier rumors, Privateer 2 and Sin City star Clive Owen was not selected for the part of secret agent 007.

Woa I didnt know that dude from WC movie was David Suchet. He is actually best known as Hercule Poirot. ITV (England) did loads of episodes about probably the best fictional detective. Yeh, you'd think Sherlock Holmes was the best, but in reality he wouldnt be able to a thing with the amount of heroin and coke he was doin...

No, there is the book which this movie will be based off. I'm still bummed that Clive Owen didn't get the part of 007, I don't think Daniel Craig will do a good job but I"m content to wait and see at least one movie before I totally write him off. However, I see him being the next Timothy Dalton of the series...

I can't tell if your saying that as a bad thing... i really liked The Living Daylights. As far as Mr. Craig is concerned, I don't think he would have been my choice for Bond (But he was great in Layer cake.... Didnt he already play a bond villain? Or am I confusing him with someone else?)

Actually I liked the Dalton movies as well, (Living Daylights, License to Kill...seems like there was one other but can't think of it), however most of the fans don't seem to have liked Dalton. I guess I should have said this is the next George Lazenby for the series...that more accurately portrays my feelings.

No, Aplha 1-1 is correct - there is indeed already a Bond movie based on the Casino Royale book. It was made by different people than the original Bond movies, though, and was actually something of a parody.
