Czech These Awesome WC Novels Out! (May 5, 2014)

Here's an especially cool set of Wing Commander collectibles: the Czech WC novel translations! The Wing Commander games were huge hits in English and German speaking regions, so versions for those areas were no surprise, but the Czech copies have always been a little more unusual (up there with the Spanish translation of the WC Movie Novelization). The six 'Forstchen books' were all converted with the last being False Colors in 2005, six years after its original publication. Clockwise from the top left, pictured here are End Run, Heart of the Tiger, False Colors, The Price of Freedom, Action Stations and Fleet Action. This is a set LOAF added to his collection thanks to some help by Glabro.

They're extremely cool! Glabro was kind enough to send them to me after I found I had absolutely no way to order books from the Czech Republic. I'm working on the German and Spanish novels now!

Little update to LOAF's International Wing Commander library at CIG: the Spanish Wing Commander movie novel arrived over the weekend, ordered via Abebooks.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that it includes the dedication, with my credit! It uses the same cover art, but the border and book binding is different. It lacks the "movie stills" in the center, but otherwise looks like a very faithful translation.

As far as I know, Wing Commander novels have only been published in English, German, Czech and Spanish... and the Peter Telep novelization is the only one available in Spanish.
