What would be the proper compostion for a showing the flag force for power projection...

Other eras are welcome...
 
That's nonsense. It depends on the circumstances; in some situation a corvette would be enough of a show of force while in some other the entire Confleet wouldn't be enough.
 
in WC4 all that is needed is a capship probably carrying a few fighters, in the rowdy situations just a one concordia class fleet carrier w/ or w/o escorts seems to do the job
