Confronting Tolwyn

Hello everyone, it's Mjav again.
So, more stupid questions to discuss :)

When confronting our dear friend Jeffry Talwyn in the Assembly,
we do have lots of options of how to speak.

But it looks like no option matters anything except the last one "Tell them more/Attack Tolwyn".
It seems that you can say whatever, but if you forget to tell about 'G.E' - all is lost, even if a minute ago you were winning.

So, this Mjav would like to hear the opinions and the experiences of the last "quest" in
"Price of Freedom".

Mentioning the G.E. weapon and Tolwyn's own deceptions (i.e. The biochemist kidnapping) would go down well if you want to win the game. The key to winning the final battle is simply to convince the assembly about the 'dear Admirals' treachery to confed.

That's not true, you can screw up in more than one way, IIRC. Like right at the start, if you bide your time instead of jumping in.

As I recall correctly there are four choices that you must pick.

1) Seize the Moment

2) He'll Trip Himself up

3) Like Bioweapons

4) Tell them More

Pick these four choices and it's all good, War has been prevented with the Border Worlds, Tolwyn goes to jail, and Blair either gets his happy ending or the darker ending.

If you choose "Careful. Fools rush in..." at the first choice, you go straight to the loosing ending. "Seize the moment." is the right answer.

The middle two choices don't matter at all: "You're not sucking me in." vs "Two can play at that game." and "Dance around him." vs "Confront him."

The last three choices are 'two out of three' -- get two right and you win, get two wrong and you loose --

"He'll trip himself up." (right) vs. "He's mad with power."
"Like bioweapons?" (right) vs. "Like secret, unmarked fighters?"
"Tell them more..." (right) vs. "Attack Tolwyn."

And I thought I knew everything about WC4 after playing it god knows how many times... Well it appears it is time for another WC4 session :) Thanks Loaf!

That's why we love WC so much though, even when we think we've played it all, there's still a path we haven't taken. You can see this through the work of the Standoff crew as well, as they have the highest regard and respect for the branching of missions and conversations. It's why all of us replay the series every now and then. One of my favorite things is a marathon Kilrathi Saga replaying, nothing beats going from a pleeb to "the colonel" without having to wait years between releases.

Those first few years were incredibly dense with Wing Commander releases from WC1 to WC3. You had a main game, expansion or sequel every 4 months on average (not even counting ports). The longest gap was from SO2 in Summer 1992 to Academy and Privateer the following summer.
