CD read error in P2

well, I got P2 to work on XP...but now it doesnt read disc 2 when I put it in. Well, it does read it, but when I try to watch a video from disc 2, it just says "insert CD 2."

I have the patch, its a windows vers of P2 and Ive pressed space...nothin happens

Any ideas?

Ok, this is a common prob and it's quite easy to fix. So don't worry Just check out this Link:

Or the other way is to do this:

Extra step: Create your special CD now!
This one is the very special one... Extract the patch file to the directory with the patched P2CD1 (C:\P2CD1??) too. Execute it, so it will patch the file we will burn on the CD later. Now, do some cleaning up. Delete the files dark.old and patch.exe from the directory, as they are not needed later. Now you have got your perfect P2 Win95 install CD, which is already speed patched. Just the final touch. I've created a nice laucher app which you can put onto your P2 Win95 install CD. Download it here and extract all files into your prepared folder, overwriting all files that may already exist. Now Burn it onto CD and be happy!!

thanks, thats the link I used to install the game (I really have a dos vers, but couldnt be bothered with dosbox )

and Im doin what the first one said now. ty ty ty ty ty.

cant wait to finish this game.......again.


1 more thing, the sound is ok all through videos and in stations, but when I open up my nav map or diary in space...all the sound goes jumpy and it repeats (so if I was under attack, ill hear lasers repeatin for about 2 mins). Also, it echoes when Im selecting conversation paths in the videos :s n e solution to this?
