yoow ! very impressive... and you've got the garage to put it in ? :D

About carriers, do u know the funniest one ? No ? This is our (french) CVN, the Charles de Gaulle ! Do u know all the stories about it ?

OK, if u want... u must know France has a new CVN, called Charles de Gaulle, which will launch our new Rafales. The problem is that, firstly, Rafales are not finished (we've got only five of those planes). Then, they broke a propeller, and the company who built it do not exist any more, so that they put an old propeller of another CV, the Clemenceau, while building a new. Few weeks ago, they got a problem of "gaz poisoning", and last week, I heard that they welded the "reactor tank" (i don't know if we can say that, but that is where they put uranium) because they broke an argent seam on it, and they could not replace it (too expensive and too long to build).
And they've send it to help American units in Afghanistan...

Of course, this will be the best CVN on Earth... but, today, everybody blames it, and is joking with it and its problems...

The phrase you're looking for is "reactor vessel."

Forgive me for asking, but don't you guys still have your Super Etendards and F-8E(FN)s? If so, can't you fly those off the CdeG?

And I'd heard that the C de G is giving the FN no end of difficulty because of inadequate power, needing refueling before they expected (as in, next year), very small air wing (1/3 to 1/2 that of an American carrier), low top speed, et cetera. In its favor, it appears to have a small crew requirement (less than half that of an American Nimitz-class heavy carrier).

Let's Play A Game!™

Vesuvius class Heavy Carrier
Length: 1,600 m
Mass: 250,000 tonnes
Y/P/S: 6/6/6 dps
Max. Speed: 150 kps
Cru. Speed: 100 kps
Weapons -
(14) Anti-Matter Gun
(16) Single Mass-Driver Turret
(24) Dual-Laser Turret
(2) Torpedo Tube
Crew: 7,800
Jump Capable: Yes
Fighter Compliment: 400 (4 wings)
Shields: Phase
Armor: 4,000 cm each
Ships-
- TCS Vesuvius (CV-70)
- TCS Mt. St. Helens (CV-71)
- TCS McKinley
- TCS Fuji
- TCS Kilauea
- TCS Rainier
- TCS Eisen

Midway Class

Class MegaCarrier
Length 1830 meters
Mass 200,000 metric tonnes
Max Velocity 80 kps
Acceleration 45 kps^2
Y/P/R 5/5/5 deg/s
Rotational Acceleration 3 deg/s^2
Guns Laser Turrets (25)
Missiles 6x1 IR, Capship Missile Launcher
Turret Strength 800 cm
Decoys N/A
Front Shield Phase Shields
Rear Shield Phase Shields
Bridge Armor 2000 cm
Left/Right Engine Armor 2000 cm
Left/Right Hangar Armor 2000 cm
Left/Right Launcher Armor 2000 cm
Plasma Cannon Armor 2000 cm
Fighter Complement 252
Jump Capable Yes

I do recall the Midway in WCP didn't have a full complement...

I voted for fleet carrier; something like the Vesuvius with an effective fleet structure would be enough to get the job done. I'd have something like Midway in reserve just in case I were really in the ****hole! It's a trump card, and it would be unwise to bring it out first-hand.

At full, the Midway will have a 250 fighter compliment. Thats can be attributed to it being cheaper to build and its role as a command ship, with lots o Marines and science type people.

that's wierd, your midway class stats says that it has "plasma cannon armour" and no "bridge armour" remember, the midway's plasma cannon, sorry, weapon was not included in the original design. IF all the later midways had exact replicas of the first plasma weapon, then its fire-one-time-and-don't-fire-again-or-else-carrier-goes-boom , of course, they could spend 10+years ironing out the bugs and glitches that they realised that it would be cheaper to build another behemoth anyway

Of course, the CdG is full of Super-Etendards, but they are old, you know...

Here are his caracteristics (compare them to US Carriers):

Lenght: 261.5 m
Width: 64 m
Max velocity: 27 knots
Aircafts: 40 (Super-Etendards and Rafales - Rafale Rules !)+ Hawkeyes
Crew: 1950 (eventually +800 soldiers)
Hangar: 4500 m²
Autonomy: 95% operationnal during 45 days
2 elevators (36 t)

It can also launch 20 tonnes aircrafts with a sea force 5-6...

Yes, the Nimitz class carrriers are faster, as more catapults (4) and has twice as many aircrafts than the CdG... yes...
