The 'Claw and only her!
Intrepid may be the symbol of freedom,
Concordia mat be the symbol of might,
but the old Tiger's Claw - she's the best and I'd stand for her no matter what.

And by the way, where could we see the Austin?
She's only mentioned in the WC1 - Crusade, and we never have a chance to see her...

----- update of post ------
Oops... :)
Didn't see the answer above.
So the Austin is really an Exeter?
Or is she of some other type, and Crusade had an incorrect model for it?

I'm pretty sure (if my facts are correct anyway) that the ship is an enlarged version of the Exeter destroyer which became a light carrier of the Gettysburg class.

What we know about the TCS Austin's class is an amalgamation of three sources. Secret Missions 2 itself uses the Exeter model for the Austin's brief appearance. The game is careful to keep the Austin far away - it jumps out almost immediately after you arrive at the jump point.

Freedom Flight describes the ship, point blank, as being a "Gettysburg-class Cruiser"... which is where that name comes from (the intention was probably for it to be a *Waterloo*-class Cruiser... Ellen Guon, who wrote Freedom Flight, also did WC2SO1 about the TCS Gettysburg around the same time).

Finally, in Super Wing Commander, Jazz describes the Austin as being 'larger than the Tiger's Claw'.

Yeah I remember that, and then at the end, The Concordia has escorts around her, including another carrier of the same design... I always assumed that was the austin

I think the ships in the ending cutscene are a group of four Bengals.

I voted concordia a while ago, but i do have a hard time choosing between connie and midway(now that i played WCp again)...

I don't understand your question: what is supposed to be larger in length or mass than the TC? The Vesuvius certainly is, I think it is 1,600 metres long and weighs 250,000 tonnes. The TC was 700 metres and 80,000 tonnes.
I don't know any numbers for the Intrepid but since it was a converted destroyer, I think it's safe to assume that it is smaller than the Claw.

I've always been partial to the Confederation class, myself!

Voted for the 'Claw. Coolest carrier ever. Too bad they used some horrible thing that looks like some gutted fish in the movie. :(

The Concordia supercruiser, on the other hand, did deserve a place in this poll, it's just awesome. Although I'd rather they had given her another name. Nothing against "Concordia", but there are already too many things by that name in the WC universe - let alone a completely different and contemporaneous class of carriers.

I didn't particularly care for ANY of the movie designs (save the dralthi which actually resembled the game's ship.) Especially the Broadsword design, that to me was total crap.

Yeah I hated all the movie designs too. Why did the Concordia look like a WW2 battleship?

First of all a warning:

*DO NOT* turn this thread into a bash the movie thread. Keep it on topic END OF STORY.

Second. The Movie was designed as a WW2 movie in space very specifically to the point where Chris Roberts made the crew watch documentary footage,Tora! Tora! Tora! and Midway for capship and fighter movement inspiration. Also, the movie concordia is not the same ship as the WC2 concordia. Yes the tiger's Claw looks different but leave it at that for now.
