Boot disk

Hey why all this discussion about all these different types of virtual pcs and dos emulators? From what I've read it seems like they just make the game run like crap, and it sounds pretty complicated getting them to work anyway. Why not just use a friggin dos boot disk? That's what I'm doing, and all I need to know is how to get a mouse and sound working in dos. I've got SB Live! and a PS/2 compatible mouse. I could probably find out how to get them to work on my own, but I'm lazy. Thanks for any help.

If you have Windows XP or 2000/NT using NTFS instead of FAT32, you don't have DOS, and that's that. That's why people would have to use DOS emulators or Virtual Machine, or whatever it's called. Without them, no (proper) DOS. Without DOS, old Wing Commanders can be kind of hard to run.
