actually, the waterloo's are special. they are the only terran crusier (that i know of) that carries more than a squadron of fighters. they carry as many fighters as the victory, while the plunketts only carry a squadron (can't remember where i got that from, but it sounds right) while it's murphy escorts carry a half squadron each

The Waterloo's aren't as armed in terms of weapons, but are so in terms of fighters and bombers.

that's just more proof that the waterloo's are special. the traditional crusier is a gun platform, designed for letting it's guns do the work. the waterloo is the opposite: designed to let it's fighters do the work, but with enough guns to hold it's own in a fight

Do Waterloo's carry Broadswords?

don't know, but they do carry sabres and can handle crossbows

How can you preface a statement with 'actually' and then proceed to ask the quesions you'd need to know the answers for to make such an assumption? The Waterloo is very heavily armed compared to contemporary capital ships -- and it carries as many fighters as a light carrier. That's why it's special.

(And no, there's no evidence that it has "two destroyer escorts" or that it carries Broadswords...)

well, the one in SO does jump in with 2 destroyers.

It's only a single event, it doesn't establish that they always travel in that formation.

true, but it could still imply that they do, just like the fact that the midway was traveling alone doesn't mean that it will always do so. and it this case however, those 2 destroyers were escorts, unless one of them was the flagship of that group, not the cruiser
