AWE64 with DOS 6.22 & Privateer 1

Anesthesia

Spaceman
Oh sweet God, my life is a daunting blitz of futile efforts. I just spent $60 making a sweet "pure" DOS 6.22 system for the sole purpose of playing Privateer. The game runs fine, but when I load it with any hint of Soundblaster sound, I hear a wretched screeching noise instead of actual sound. My SB64 AWE is running at 220 IRQ5 DMA1 and MIDI at 300. Does anyone know if AWE 64s are just not meant to run with good 'ol DOS, or is there some sort of other problem?

Oh God, I so hate everything that this life is. Oh by the way, you can e-mail me at "phil@soyokaze.org"

Sheesh, enough of the rhetorics.

Anyway, sounds like the simple solution of reducing memory to 16384kB should do the trick, doesn't it? :)
