Annoying deaths/failures

The most anoying death is being shot by craft of YOUR side (eg wingmans, the cerberus' plasma..)

My most annoying death was in WC2 when the Connie fired an AM at a Kamekh and I was caught right in the middle, ouch!

Actually, I've tried to do that on purpose! :) Couldn't do it though.

Another thing: getting blasted at the end of a really hard mission - whether by friend or foe - has got to be annoying.

Plus, I've accidentally shot down a Vampire on the second part of the Tiamat mission in WCP. Having to repeat the first part wasn't pleasant.

You know whats really bad, is watching someone playing the game who really doesnt know what their doing, after being stripped of all armor and down to one gun (in Wc2) make it all the way back to the carrier only to crash into it because you cant explain the idea of asking for landing clearance fast enough. Its not really their fault cause they dont know and they wont let call for them so what you gonna do?

What's really annoying is that if you DON'T kill any enemy in one of the Jontunheim Missions (SM1) where you find the Exeter that has been taken over by the Kilrathi, you get a Bronze Star.

However, if you kill everyone, you don't get anything.

Very weird Origin, very weird.

Actually, one of the 'prerequisites' for winning medals in WC1 is how much damage your ship has taken. Sad but true. Fly the perfect mission and you get zip. Scrape home with no shields and 1 gun hanging on by a bit of wire and they give you a Gold Star.

As for the most annoying failure. It's gotta be Priv2, when the transport ship you have just escorted across half the sector accidentally shoots a CIS ship.

Nah. If you have pirates and CIS at the same place, both the transport and the CIS will shoot at the Pirates. If one hits the other by mistake enough times, they will retaliate.

On a related note, in Priv1 I once made the mistake of trying to be a 'nice-guy' and tractor in an ejected pilot. Suddenly I've got a cargo listed as Slaves and Confed hot on my tail.

Always in Priv 1 tractoring an ejected pilot appears like you have slaves.... but you can sell them for much money.

i hate it when i tun cheat mode on and use the relevant keys to kill the targeted ship. but sometimes i press it one too many times. = dead carrier/mission objective/jump point

cheating is useful if you want to see a certain movie again, like paladin getting a crack on the jaw. or blair/tolwyn council row, wc4

Damage to your ship isn't a prequisite in WC1 -- the reason for the medal problem in SM1 is because the original version of the game counts destroying the Exeter andt he Rapiers as medal points *against* you (like blowing up any human ships would be). I believe this was fixed in later versions of SM1.

So it was just a problem with the hardcoding that was residual from WC1 huh? well that makes sence. Also nother annoying death/failure, you kill seether, fight through all of earths defences and then you say "fools rush in" or you make some other mistake in the argument with tolwyn and get the loosing endgame, GOD that was annoying the first time I played.
