It looks like iTunes isn't the only way to stream high definition Wing Commander anymore. The Amazon Instant Video page for Wing Commander now advertises, "also available in HD with Amazon Instant Video on Your TV." There is a new page dedicated to a variety of set-top boxes, TVs and Blu-ray players that support the service, and there are even ways to play via your XBox or PC. Try it out and let us know how it works for you!

Blair, a fighter pilot, joins an interstellar war to fight the evil Kilrathi who are trying to destroy the universe.

So as far as watching the WC movie in HD goes things are looking pretty rosy right now. There's never been more easy access to the HD film. Not only can you rent the HD film on iTunes and Amazon, but also on the xbox zune marketplace and the PSN in the US and Canada. But why oh why don't they have a purchase option yet? Where is the Blu-ray?

I don't remeber if the Sky Movies in the UK lets you stream in HD off their online Sky Player or on demand but if you are suscribed to the service you can watch the movie any time at no cost (kind of like netflix instant I guess)

Nope, my laptop is 1920x1200 - I just cropped the picture down.

(Posting this from my iPad, which is just a joy to use - I could even crop & upload pictures to the CIC pretty easily with it)

If anyone is confused about this (... because I am every time I look at it...) you can only rent the HD version *from* your device; there's no actual page to rent it at Amazon itself--you have to go to your TiVo and purchase it there.

Amazon did not launch it's rental service in Germany yet :(. And the German iTunes-Store does not have the movie. They even dropped the production of the DVD here in Germany.
