Nope, it was a neat consistent esthetic. I seem to remember the mac version of System Shock being red, but maybe I'm wrong on that. I'll have to go dig for it at my father's house. Actually I've never even heard of Shadow Caster. I'll have to check that one out
[EDIT] Google to the rescue: That one was red but they varied the design a bit by rotating the dividing line diagonally. Then they varied the Super Wing Commander CD by making it white. Maybe it was going to be a trend for the mac games? But can tell you the WC3 version looked near identical to the DOS ones.
