10/26 - updated ship's section
10/21 - updated Sys Recc's and RSI Connie info. Added Economy section
10/18 - Pledge update, kickstarter!

*This will be edited as more details are released and found out.*

[Pledge]

*Star Citizen has been green-lit by Kickstarter AND hit its first million milestone!! The link for the SC kickstarter is provided below*

Pledge amounts are ranging from $10 to $10,000, each with their own benefits and tiers of citizenship. Pledges over $10K may be made by contacting bigfish@cloudimperiumgames.com.

Payments are made via credit card, amazon, Paypal. A special note regarding Paypal: it has BillMeLater, so that you may incrementally pay for the pledge over time (this should help those concerned about coming up with enough money for a given pledge tier).

Stripe can now also be used.

Pledges also accepted on kickstarter via http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cig/star-citizen. If you pledge both at RSI and kickstarter, extra perks will be added to your account.

From the Cloud Imperium Commercial Terms:
You must be a registered user to select and pay for a pledge. Upon selection of a pledge, your payment will be collected through independent third party payment providers such as Paypal, Amazon Payments, and Stripe. By using such providers you agree to the terms and conditions applicable to each payment method you choose. CIG does not receive any confidential payment data from such providers, and CIG is not responsible for their performance. Any separate charges or obligations that you incur in your dealings with the third party payment providers are your responsibility. CIG reserves the right to change such payment providers at any time.

Refunds: if a goal has not been met, and you have checked the appropriate box for refunding in that circumstance, it will be done.

WHAT IF I WISH TO MAKE A HIGHER PLEDGE AMOUNT THAN WHAT I ALREADY SUBMITTED? Whether or not the benefits will stack or not is currently unconfirmed, however according to Ben Lesnick (LOAF), at that point you will have the benefits given to you in the higher tier package.

[System Recommendations]

Taken from the RSI Commlink section:

"At the moment you will be able to play it on a 4GB dual core PC with a GTX 460 or greater, but not with full fidelity. If you’re running an i7 2500, 2600, 2700 or better with a GTX 670 or greater you will get the full experience and we will only scale up from there. You will need a dedicated GPU."

AMD users (yay, me!), the FX-8120 and 8150 have similar benchmarks to the i7 series, so if you already have one of those gems, you're set!

[Game Content]

Fighters, merchant/freighter vessels, and capital ships will be playable. Most can be bought, others must be earned.

Ships/weapons info can now be found here: http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/ships-plan/

Universe:

Newtonian physics will be in effect. Ships controls are similar to 'fly-by-wire', where the computer determines which of the thrusters fire for a desired pitch, yaw, or bank moment. However, should a player choose, they can deactivate the Intelligent Flight Control System (IFCS) and manipulate their spacecraft manually.

50 navigable star systems are planned for the full release, with more to come in further updates.

If a player discovers a jump point, and successfully navigates it, the system can be named after that player.

Encounters with other players/AI will be instanced, and slots will be reserved should a player want to request assistance from friends/others in nearby systems.

Single-player and multi-player modes will be available.

Economy:

From The Man, CR, himself:

"1000 credits can buy a couple of modules, or a few containers of cargo. Its not enough for abase Hull. We haven’t priced the hulls out credit wise but my guess is that you would need 10-15K credits minimum to move up to the next ship level. Don’t quote this as gospel – the big caveat is that we haven’t leveled all this as we’re still in the design stage!"

In summary, and for the time being:

1 ship module = 500 credits
Ship lvl advancement approximately 10-15K.

It's a corvette...? That's... interesting.

Oh, just noticed the FAQ page. So one could buy fighters and fly those separately (must be a pretty big corvette to carry fighters).

A rough guideline for system specifications is mentioned too, for those wanting to base their decision on what hardware is required.

In X2 and 3, the biggest ships you could acquire were corvettes, and any that carried a fighter could hold only one; it also could not accomodate anything over a light fighter. With the SC corvettes, I wouldn't expect more than that, either, but we'll see what happens! I'm really tempted to get the pledge 'Come Fly With Me' now.

Actually you could buy the destroyers and carriers also, as well as space stations. I recall reading somewhere on the website that the pledge ships are meant to be nice, but there will be ships to get even after the Constellation.

Nice on the hardware specs. I'm running 8 GB RAM and a GT620, so I am glad to hear that I won't have to upgrade to play.

The corvette doesn't have to have an actual flight deck--it could be like the Enterprise NX-01 where it grapples the fighter to dock it in a bay that is hardly any larger than the fighter itself, or the fighter might even dock externally, held on by clamps. Now I want to know if you can hire NPC pilots to launch from your corvette and escort you in battle.

It may also be possible to slave the ship's controls to your main ship/datapad, and have it fly automatically or remotely.

Added update for Sys Recc's and RSI Connie. Added category for Economy.

The Freelancer musst be the same size then the Hornet, because its the one from the artwork: (show if you make the pledge)

A little longer, definitely has more depth than the Hornet. I would guesstimate that something equivalent to an Epee, Ferret, and/or Arrow.

Due to the massive amount of info currently being released as of this post, I will likely not update this thread as often since most of it can be easily found. If something comes about that cannot directly be accessed up front (such as this week's ship/weapons document), I'll post it here so it can be conveniently found in one location.

If anyone does find something interesting that I haven't caught, please PM me or reply here, and I'll find a place for it with credit to your name :)

There are several sources that might be good to list here. There's some compilations of the Q&As Chris Roberts has done on Kickstarter and elsewhere like the Reddit AMA. There's also several interesting threads over at RSI including one where LOAF is answering questions.

THere's also several new interviews in the media with Chris Roberts. So even if you don't post the content here it might be good to link people the the various sources.
