Say... would soccer survived all the way till the WC era in the 27th century?

I do know that Cricket does (Galactic Cricket Cup mentioned by Barbara Miles after the Tolwyn interview in WC4)... and there's also that mission of escorting a group of losing sportsmen in Priv2...

That would be the Dallas Cowboys. They still suck even in the future.

Well, according to Luc Besson it would be possible... :)
The Fifth Element takes place around 2300, and if you notice at some point in the movie, in Korben's apartment there's a Brazil soccer jersey hanging on the wall... :)
If soccer can survive for 300 years, why not 300 more?
(ok, some might say it's an old jersey from our time... pretty damn well conserved eh?)

N.B. In addition, if you look closely, you can notice there are still only 4 stars on the jersey. For those that do not know, a star on a national jersey equals to one World Cup victory, so the script fallacy here is that during these whole 300 years, Brazil never had a chance to win additional world cups... :)

And that is a fallacy?...

Condidering how they have been playing lately... no. :)
But it's still Brazil, that on the jersey has double the stars of Argentina... :p

I wanted to add, if anyone cares, that Italy will be facing USA in a friendly soccer game tomorrow. Game's at 2.30pm ET. :)

That would be sick! Sometimes i wonder if the character BLAIR is used as the building blocks for other characters in other space games.
