Did everything.. Downloaded the CORRECT file this time and followed instructions.. Still no sound. My mother board is a Asus P3V4X. Went back and checked autoexec twice and everything is pointing to SBLIVE directory. Ran SBEGO in dos and same thing - the board is set to the same numbers...

Did everything but.. Changed Loadhigh= to LH - no difference. Everything looked exactly the same .. still 576 memory. I don't know how to extract an exe file to a directory and the drivers at the link are the same drivers that are on the machine now. Thanks.

Device manager Checked the Device Manager and everything was ok with the exception of IRQ.. 7 instead of 5. No probs, CL SB16 emulation ok. My cdrom is running ok.. had cd digital checked. Must have done it when I was trying anything to get sound to the game. ). Thanks.

Am I confused? OH, BOY!! I remed out the cd-rom and got a message stating 'cannot find file C:\PROGRA~1\CREATIVE\SBLIVE\DOSDRV\DOS4GW.EXE - SBEINIT NOT LOADING.' Checked and the file is there!! Took out the rems so cd-rom can load, and everything went smooth. Privateer and RF are loading from...

Still... Changed the line and it seemed to be ok... but no improvement. Still the microsecond of sound then lockup. Used excape to get to next screen with new, load, etc., hoping to try the game with sound turned off. It locked up imm. requiring cold reboot. Much appreciation for your help...
