    Just wanted to bump this thread up and echo "Thank You!" >> developers :-) For Vegastrike as well --you guys must be big-time busy, you're all over the Vs forums too. Major kudos. On the subject of Open Source, damn straight. I've seen too many games/gaming communities go down the tank...

    I voted 'keep'. I prefer as real as possible. That's the one big thing that bugs me about Vega Strike --you have to *burn* to *move*. That aint' space. The closest thing to a space simulator "game" I've had the pleasure of running was "Space Combat" by those X-Plane guys. Sadly it's closed...

    priv_009d.sh fails md5sum?

    newb alert OK So as not to further tax the server, could someone clue me in on how to download in this mysterious "binary mode"? I've tried a few different ways of downloading this file, but each time the newline characters are being stripped. wget, Mozilla, Kget, Konki.... they all...

    Well shoot I used wget without any arguments to download. No idea what \r\n or \n mean.. sorry. Maybe I'm in over my head! Thanks though

    Downloaded from ftp.wcnews.com/files/fans/priv_009d.sh on 1/1/05 @ 0829 Pacific The filesize indicated near the top of the script isn't right: filesizes="93459445" vs. 93468289 (actual) Obviously failed md5. I'm wondering, is it just that the 'headers' in the script haven't been updated...
